if it's not Fleetwood Mac, and not Prince, then surely it HAS to be Blur. can't think of any other realistic possibilities that would fit in to all the criteria given - announce after both IOW (and possibly even BST) to ensure their ticket sales aren't affected

Right, this is what I heard last night....

I'm pretty sure that there'll be an announcement this week (said by more than one person, tho press said "we know nothing"), and someone who should know told me Wednesday. I don't know what time it might be.

An announcement this week won't include the 3rd headliner, so I was told.

The 3rd headliner won't be announced until June, I was told. I was told this was because the act was "doing other shows".

By the sounds of things - tho I'm not sure (I did ask Emily, but I'm uncertain of what she said back due to noise) - it seems that the 3rd headliner is something that been put together in the last week(ish).

I heard (that i believe was really said) that Michael has said within the last week that the 3rd headliner is not Fleetwood Mac. I also heard similar saying 'not Prince'.

So make your guesses about that act. :)

(one of the guesses we made last night was The Who, which you lot quickly killed by pointing out they were in Paris that night)

----

So we heard, Hot Chip will headline West Holts on Friday, with WH Saturday headlined by George Clinton playing the 'Sly' role with the Family Stone as a special one-off. ...which today, sober, sounds like it might be a tall story, but perhaps it's not.

We also heard some other bits and pieces, which are listed on the line-ups page (which |'m just going to check over and perhaps tweak one or two).

Cheers Neil. Appreciated as always.

Imagine the pressure and stress it puts on the organisers when/if that purple tit pulled out to find a sizable headliner to replace him.

Just makes the thousands of "give us the lineup" tweets they have received the past few weeks even more cringe worthy

Taylor...Macca...The Libs...Madonna?!

All have other shows this summer and could probably headline...

Madonna still has UK tour tickets to sell

Kylie still has BST tickets to sell

Noel Gallagher still has London Calling tickets to sell

The Libertines have R&L tickets to shift

I'm not saying it's any of them & Blur certainly seem the most likely but they're not the only ones that fit the 'criteria'.

Dancing a funkyfairy happy Sunday morning dance ..... Blur fits the bill of everything above and they'd step up at the last moment

But who should the headliner have been, unless it really was Taylor swift and due to her mums diagnosis she is honouring existing commitments but no more.

Great work

RE Grace Jones, I assume you've heard she's in as now SR for West Holts. Would she headline do you think ? And if so that would mean the Sunday due to Hot chip Friday and Glinto sat night?

Would love to see her. Cheers.

The Grace Jones info is a bit weirder in how it came about than other bits of info, and I might have made an assumption too far from what was said, so it's possible it's wrong and she's not playing .... tho I think she probably is playing.

I don't think she'd be the headliner, but you never know. I've no idea on days.

So does this rule out prince..whilst strengthening the blur/ fleetwood Mac rumours Neil......also ACDC rumours seems to be dying out, can we rule them out now ?

read everything that I posted.

Apologies first off...

I'm very impressed with the day card lineup rumours. Some cool eclectic acts on the potential list.

BUT

Re: Final Headliner...

I'll honestly be gutted if it's Blur. With all the anticipation over the elusive final 3rd headliner I'd prefer somebody fresh instead of a band that played just a few years back. They won't top that performance so why even try to recreate something better with a hanful of unfamiliar mediocre songs. Smells of 'desperate Gorrillaz booking' all over again.

I hope the majority of people's guesses are wrong and it's some other act.

Here's hoping that the Eavii have a little more imagination and they save the Sunday.

Barring IoW and BST somehow managing to sell out (which seems unlikely) it would have to be a really quite spectacularly late announcement for Blur to avoid any impact on tickets. If they kept them under wraps until the Sunday before the festival, the day after they do Hyde Park, well fair play, that is some secrecy and a half!

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
    • Yup and they aren't cheap   Glastonbury is different though, it's a place that will pack out for rarities they don't usually see. Download strictly speaking shouldn't be the strangest place for Avril to pop up of she had been a touring artist of longer times over the years.   Avril and GC would get the same billing for me and GC are selling arenas out quicker than Avril sold Ally Pally. Bearing in mind she'd pnly done soem Brixton dates before.
    • Avril gets above GC on rarity (see Cypress Hill this year). She drew in something like 70,000 at Glastonbury, so much so that they had to close the field off. I’d wager that she would get the biggest crowd of the entire weekend if she was to play DL.
