If you think its generic then i can only say thats because Kanye influenced so heavily what you consider generic hip-hop. When he came onto the scene he was seen as a huge breath of fresh air.

I don't like the little bits of his music I've heard, I don't want to listen to more of it because I know it's not for me. You'll never convince me he's a musical genius, I'll never convince you he's shite. But surely we can all agree on the fact that the man acts like an arsehole? You can blame the media all you like but his actions towards Taylor Swift & Beck were undeniably disrespectful to other artists. Those were his actions, not some made up story.

I like musicians with attitude but they've got to be able to back it up with something of substance. From where I'm standing, he hasn't got any.

G&R have not been that good, recently. Kanye has had some great shows (Coachella) and some awful (Bonnaroo). G&R just seen to have late shows and so piss off who is seeing them.

I applaud your obvious love for this guy, I like stuff that many people find laughable and I accept that, I find some of it quite laughable myself. So carry on, always good to see a passionate new member of the board fighting their corner but like I say, it's a pointless argument.

After the festival, all his fans will declare his set a triumph. All his detractors will say it was a disaster. Most people won't care because they will have been somewhere else, having a great time.

I was at Bonnaroo in 2008 and last year, and came away with a negative opinion of him and his performance both times. Maybe I am getting old, as I just turned 28, but this guy just doesn't foster a good time.
