Oh wow their setlists from the last tour are abysmal.

"Clocks (Dedicated to Matthew Bellamy/ With snippet of "Madness" by MUSE)"

Okay.

ha, i was trying to look for a reason why they'd dedicate it to him, but couldn't find anything. weird - just chucking random dedications round. hope they dedicate their Glastonbury performance to David Schwimmer

Chris Martin and Beck are performing together at the Grammys on Sunday - hopefully Chris will put in the good word for Glastonbury and Beck will be along too. ONE good thing has to come out of them headlining

Beck was subbing Radiohead when they headlined V. Hand picked by the band apparently.

I'd take Coldplay for a bit of Beck.

If Coldplay bring a production like they did in 2011 then they'll be great on TV & will end up shifting a load of tickets if a world tour is due.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing them again (bought Emirates tickets after 2011) but I can't help think there were better alternatives out there than having them back so soon. So I prob won't & give someone else a listen.

Feel the same way about the Foo's. I like them but saw them at Reading not that long ago.

I'm bang on for the Taylor Swift times though.

I can just see them taking inspiration from Kasabian by putting #WEWEREONABREAK as their backdrop. Chris Martin is definitely #TeamRoss.

Yeah, it's this, isn't it. They'll play Saturday, get the viewing figures and it's essentially a promo slot for the upcoming tour.

    • Ive always had a lot of time for the mighty Shots, a pal of mine used to commentate on their games for Sussex Counties radio and he'd sneak me into the ground for midweek games, and we'd even nick a tea and a plate of sandwiches. This is back in the George Borg days, so um . . a little while ago now
    • Hmm, weird- Rush are playing the Co-Op live on the 12th and the 14th, and Megadeth are the meat in that sandwich - so they have to roll everything in, roll it out again, only to roll it back in and then out - here's hoping for a prog hokey-cokey with all manner of bizarre time signatures and drum solos!
    • Depends what you mean by seeing 'more stuff' about it.    I definitely don't trust the original Sun article.

    • Chill. There is no chance Sziget will be cancelled by the government. Even the prime minister held a press conference today, where he confirmed this.   Magyar said they do not want to shut down the country or prevent events from taking place. He gave the example that vetoing an event would be like completely cutting off a large consumer’s electricity supply for the organizers. However, just as they have not taken such a measure against large consumers, they have not taken steps to cancel events either. (Magyar did not name a specific event, but he was presumably referring specifically to the Sziget Festival.) At the same time, Péter Magyar stressed that if disruptions occur in the system or the heatwave persists, it could become necessary to postpone or reschedule events (example: some Hungarian football games will probably be held in daylight, moved to a few hours earlier, to save energy), although he believes there is currently little chance of that happening. This is particularly true for events that rely entirely, or largely, on their own energy sources.
