True. If someone had told you back in 1999 that Glastonbury would get Bowie, Macca, The Who, Springsteen, Neil Young, Stevie, U2, The Stones and Metallica you'd have pissed your pants laughing

Was at all of them bar Bowie.

Macca

Stevie

Shakey

Stones

Metallica

U2

Bruce

Who

That video was only from December and they said they weren't doing it! There's a straw for people to clutch rather than Paddy Power's odds. :P

That video would certainly give people reason to believe it isn't happening

Obviously Neil's information strongly suggests otherwise

This is why the headliner& announcement is water cooler (hate that bs phrase) conversation stuff. The biggest acts around have played it recently. This year we've got three dullish solo artists. And yes I know Foos and Coldplay are bands but bar half decent yet minor contributions from Hawkins and Smear we know nish bout any of the other hoors.

On the plus side, doesn't look like they will be contributing to the resales much for those looking, as they seem to believe you already need to be registered :P

And the tickets are allocated in some sort of tombolla...

I think you will have already had to register to be in the draw for Resale Tickets.

Amazed nobody's suggested this before.......

Ducks for cover

Oh they usually do just after ticket sales, you get plenty wanting it to be a random draw...

But an actual tombolla would be cool, maybe you would have to go to some sort of village fete type affair in Pilton and stand there waiting for your ticket to be called?

I always seem to run into Mexican folk at Glasto. The more the merrier, I say. Bienvenidos todos.

I keep good remembrances watching the 1/4 final of the World Championship, Mexico - Netherlands, together with a bunch of Mexicans last year in a tent near West Holts.

yep don't think i've ever been so hopeful that Neil has just done a really bad job and got it all wrong. the idea that the best festival in the world can't (or won't, as it may well have been Coldplay who approached the festival) find a headliner who hasn't headlined three festivals prior is astounding

also, the argument that they will've released three albums between the last festival and this one is a bit flawed - although not released, they played a hefty chunk of Mylo Xyloto in 2011; more than from any other album. and the purposefully didn't do a proper tour of Ghost Stories because the material wasn't really suitable for a big live environment. so basically what we'll have new material wise is their new album (which i guess it's all resting on), and A Sky Full Of Stars. let's just hope the new album is released in time for the festival this time, as they've already made that mistake twice /oldmanyellsatcloud

I really do like how the Coldplay news has seeminly united most of the forum, it was getting bit hostile over other pop acts...but we have all seeminly set aside our differences and realised that we must hope together.

The "Ticketless Mate Scale" for headliner announcements is currently set to 'Smug Bastard'.

i'm there. looking like i may have to miss this year due to circumstances, but back next year when Radiohead finally return to the Pyramid. and Prince finally surrenders...it will happen...

Didn't you get an AC/DC ticket just in case Glasto fell through as well?

Yup. To be fair it would take something pretty drastic for me to sack off the weekend entirely, but some of our group have moved to Canada and the transatlantic crossing might prove an insurmountable obstacle if all that's waiting for them at the end of it is FooPlay & the Machine. • Proper loser behaviour wearing a tee like that. Me and my mate play a game every year called ‘Boomer Tees’ and there’s some gems every time.

    • It'd be new album stuff if it were to happen I think.  First 2027 headliner in the bag also?
