Coldplay 2015

Big Coldplay fan. But come on, what have they done to since 2011 to warrant returning and what can they offer us that they haven't offered already in 2002,2005 and 2011. This is the most boring headliner option imaginable for Glasto this year. Why not give Florence/Noel/Prodigy/Strokes a step up to headliner status or do something truly new/unique (Eg. Swift/Kanye), especially seen as it is in such as unique position regarding it's safeguarded ticket sales.

I'm assuming Mylo Xyloto isn't popular on here? I didn't like the majority of it, but there were a couple of decent tracks on there & I remember watching some of them look like good fun on the TV when they headlined Glastonbury before it came out. Charlie Brown in particular.

Their most recent album is complete crap, which is a shame as I imagine the setlist will mainly be that & the new album (if its happening)

I'm going all the way from Mexico (I got tickets!) and among the many acts I'd like to see Coldplay is my top band I would like to see playing Pyramid Stage in Glastonbury. I know that for some of you guys who can go there often because you're so close it might be a repetitive act, but it's not like that considering they haven't been there for 2 albums (if you include the release of the new one) and 4 years, which is enough time to consider a new return to the fest. I really hope they attend Glasto this year. They're one of the biggest band in the planet no matter what people say. :)

Welcome UK_Eduardo.

Always good to see the Mexicans at Glastonbury but can you do me a favour. If you see any of your countrymen there with 2 flags on one stick, let them no that flags at the front are annoying at the best of times, 2 flags on one pole is taking the piss.

Cheers :)

Me too, actually.

Also Charlie Brown is a rip off of Starlight:

Charlie Brown is a great track. Ousted at the last minute from my sapping any shred of credibility I had left top 10.

Welcome to the board Eduardo! You'll have a great time at Glastonbury regardless of who you see play, this place is a good resource for getting the most out of Glastonbury. If you're from Mexico then this could be a pretty once in a lifetime thing for you, hope you find some good tips and info here that will help you get the most out of it.

Thanks for the advise and I hope to find this site helpful for my experience... As I've told other friends I would go to Glastonbury no materring what acts perform because I know many acts will be great, sometimes even the smallest are awesome, and also I know a lot of bands by now so Im not close to any possibility. Id love to see Coldplay @ glastonbury yeah, but Ive seen them before so lets just experience the fest not caring who plays...

Hey Gnomicide! Well for us is such an amazing experience. I've been to ACL fest, lollapalooza and some other fests but going to Glasto is once in a lifetime experience for some people that they just want to be seen... With that being said... Im fan of dressing up and being scandalous when attending any fest but Ill make sure I dont take 2 flags in one stick... Is 1 flag ok for you??? Because Im soooo taking it :)

Saludos!

It will not be their last gig .

Management will send em round the world to top their finances up.

I did read that although they would not tour with Ghosts their next album will be stadium friendly and they will take that round the world.

What if the new "post gwennyth" chris Martin turns out to be a much darker beast than before and produces a cracker of an album now the heavy shackles of marriage have been lifted

I'm jesting obviously

I'm hoping for a collection of upbeat rockers about the virtues of drinking, shagging and eating veal burgers

I didn't bother with Coldplay in 2011 but enjoyed them in 2005.

I have no issue with them as a booking. Either there will be something on elsewhere that I want to watch and it'll be an easy decision with very little clash factor or alternatively there'll be nothing on and I'll go watch Coldplay and remember being 16 or however old I was when parachutes came out.

First two albums were great, I don't care what anyone else says.

Regarding the "too soon" comments, it's not like a Def Leppard at Download, The Killers at V or a Springsteen at Hyde Park scenario.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
