Cheers mate, I'm glad you got time to check it out and enjoy it 😁 we 'usually' have one out every other Friday if we've pricked your interest.

Producer 🥰

I was introduced to the scene when someone gave me the cassette of Producer & Grooverider at Universe In2Orbit in 1992. Completely changed everything for me.

Luke was a huge favourite in the South West in the early to mid 90s, he seemed to be at every event. Come 1995 it all got a bit too gabba for me. Would love to see him play an old school early 90s techno/Belgian set on the farm.

Are we thinking we might get a Silver Hayes announcement or something this week?

Sounds like the Arcadia lineup is a week or two away yet based on what a pal in the know told me earlier.

if you want some clarity on next announcements .... id advise you dont look in the next announcement thread

That would be quite early for Arcadia if its a week or two, usually they are one of the last near the end of May

Ah just reread the message, the pal is thinking they'll get an advance of the lineup, but doesn't actually mention anything going public at that point - my bad!

Amazing. My first event of that size was Big Love in 93. A month after my sixteenth birthday. Good times. Did you do any others?

Did the universes. A few of the orbital ones and others I just can't remember the names of,  plenty of warehouses around the South West, but that was in the back of a car and off so no idea where they were. I was looking for the flyers the other day to sick up in the shed I have my decks in. Looks like I have lost them all which is gutting beyond belief

Half knew the chap behind Universe and many years later in a small field where he put on a party I am sure Producer did that.

I have around 10% (the Universe, Fantazia, Obsession, Dance Planet and local south west ones) of my flyers from then. Like most kids at the time, my bedroom wall was covered by so many, you couldn't see the wallpaper. I put the vast majority of them all in an A1 art folder when I left home and they disappeared. Gutted.

Alon Shulman? He's since written this book. Highly recommended read.

I think he's Carl Cox' manager amongst other things these days.

One of my first 'outdoor' bookings was the Big Love they did in Oxford in '96. Great night. Paul Shurey RIP.

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
