I even told myself to stop being stupid. Pressed play on that you tube above. Nothing happened. Volume on my phone was off. Took that as a sign that I must be right. Apologies for wasting your time, virgin.

Edited to add that that's probably not the first time I've said those words. :-D

Don't apologise, cream always rises etc. As you said, you'll hear it one day, forgotten about war on drugs sucking his cock, and think it ain't too bad

I'm furious now, off the back of this conversation, I've just seen there's a beautiful box set of the first 4 RHP albums coming out for Record Store Day, but only 1500 of them worldwide. Fucks sake.

No doubt some c**t will have them on ebay for four times the value the same afternoon.

After a stormy relationship, I've divorced record store day and am now in a cosy affair with 'go when the place isn't rammed every other day of the year full of ignorant twats.'

I'll miss out on some coloured vinyl or an extra track here and there but the extra cost and hassle ain't worth it no more.

In fact I'm gonna write a song. Record store day can suck my cock.

hahaha. Superb. Post of the day

Even worse for me living abroad, not a chance to even visit a record shop. But yeah, it's clearly disappeared up its own arse.

Ps I thought it was worldwide. Or is vinyl still rationed over there?

It is worldwide, but you need shops who are affiliated etc, and we haven't really got a shop that is part of the, I dunno, association I guess you'd call it. Vinyl has still not made a comeback here at all, really. There's 15 million people in this city, and maybe 2 record shops (admittedly one is amazing)

"disappeared up its own arse" is such a great way to sum up RSD. I had to wade through the crowds last year to get hold of Fourteen Autumns And Fifteen Winters by The Twilight Sad, which they immediately ordered more pressings of when they saw it being sold on for a massive mark-up on ebay.

I dunno guys. I'm a bit of an arsehole when I get on my high horse and refuse to change my mind if I've a bee in my bonnet.

I'll probably hear something by accident in ten years time and regret it but that war on drugs song definitely has him filed as c**t I won't give the time or effort for in my mind.

I'm a petty twat. Bet you can imagine how lucky the Mrs feels living with me.

That is fair enough, scruffy, but: Mr Kozelek is a contrary, moody git. He's also a little bit of a genius. Benji was not in most AOTY top 10s last year for nothing. And no, there was no need for that level of rudeness towards The War On Drugs...except that they are a bit crap, aren't they? I just cannot fathom the love for this band. They are incredibly 70s/80s plodding, chugging 4/4 rock. Saw them for three songs at Green Man and that corroborated my opinion. Then, was listening to 6Music today when a song came on unannounced. I didn't recgnise it, but God it was awful. Bland, unimaginative 80s rehash American Rock. You know the rest...

Anyway, if you can get over him being a bit of a tw*t, Mark Kozelek can be pretty amazing.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I was warming to the album when he started being such a petty arsehole and it soured it for me. It wasn't even that he was being curmudgeonly, he was just being a dick and that started to bleed into the way I was hearing the songs.

I don't think Courtney will be on the Park. Reckon she'll be low Pyramid/Other - hope it doesn't drown her sound out. FJM on the Park will be brilliant though, probably mid level (4/5 down) or so.

http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/glastonbury/2015/lineup.shtml#panel6efests seem to think she's playing the park, which suits her better i think

Edit: efests has changed her to unknown stage

I know that's where Neil has put her but this is the quote from his interview with Emily

Courtney Barnett someone sent us the link to her, and we listened to it, and I just really loved that record, we played it all the time, and I really love her new stuff as well. I think she will be back this year, but I'm not entirely sure what slot she's going to be in yet, but she'll definitely be there.

And Courtney Barnett, great news. Where do we think they'll place on the park?

Further evidence of the utter pointlessness of 'UK festival exclusive' (and similar proclamations) as an entity.

The first Green Man announcement (2nd Feb) quite clearly states that Courtney Barnett is a GM UK festival exclusive.

Now, I'm thrilled she'll be at GF2015, but what a joke...

Yeah I was just thinking that, she is a significant reason I was (and still am tbh - especially if she's shoved on the Pyramid at Glasto) considering a Green Man ticket...the bastards

She's down for the Pyramid on the rumours page now

Nice. Hope it goes well for her. A few of us were discussing the idea a while back, she definitely has the sound for a lovely early morning slot. (Then a shouty one to confuse people)

Yeah i booked a ticket for the London show on the back of that announcement, but i am glad i did now, if she gets put lower down on the Pyramid it won't be as good as seeing her at the Park, as i did last year, one of the highlights of the weekend.

I ordered the new record on orange vinyl yesterday. Even though this is my first GF, I'm a festival veteran and familiar enough with the feel of Worthy and the various stages to know that low down Pyramid would be a real shame for Courtney. Her tour dates leave the weekend clear, I think, so maybe she could do more than one set and we could see her elsewhere...? William's Green?
