The Park 2015

Yeah that's how I've got into him, been listening to his first album on Spotify too.

I dunno maybe it would be ok but in my head he's a night time act.

I haven't begun delving into full albums just yet, just been checking out bits and pieces on YouTube. Not sure whether to start at the very beginning or with his more recent stuff. The perils of discovering an artist later in their career!

Veronica Falls are one of those bands I've always meant to check out but never got round to. I'll get right on that.

In the meantime, I'm throwing Joanna Gruesome into the mix.

Joanna Gruesome are excellent, and seem to travel in pair with other excellent bands, I've seen them play shows with Los Campesinos!, Speedy Ortiz and Perfect Pussy, they also did a few dates with Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, too. So hopefully if they turned up, they'd be on the road with some other great band, but I think they need to get some new material out soon. I got their split 7" with Perfect Pussy for Christmas, it sounds very promising for their future releases.

Yes please. One of my fave albums of the year, stunning voice. And my brother saw her live recently and said she was great. Park would be perfect (well she wouldn't really fit anywhere else tbh!).

As for Courtney Barnett, I'm not sure where in the country I'll be when her gigs are on, are they likely to sell out quickly? I find it hard to judge how big people are sometimes.

I imagine some of the smaller venues + big city venues (Manchester, London) will sell out, no idea when though. Could well be a second London date added though.

I've never spent that much time up at the park, first year I went I didn't see anyone up there (a crime I know) and last year I saw three on the park so next visit I'm hoping for more artists up there that take my fancy

While you're there, have a look at the Crow's Nest at the top for some smaller gigs, posted on the board outside.

Agreed, although my biggest ask is that they empty the bins when they get full, and put some on the hill. All of those food places is obviously going to generate loads of waste, they currently don't seem to be able to handle it at all.

More bins would be good. A fruit stall where it doesn't cost about a fiver for a mouldy banana would seal the deal.

The Park is THE worst area to litterpick, its an absolute disgrace. All our collective hearts drop to our boots when they say we've got to take the long trudge up there after 3 hours on the Pyramid. <plays tiny knackered violin>

I'd like to see a few different food stalls up there too, there are some decent ones but I think it could do with a bit of a refresh and more bins which are emptied regularly would be good.

It is still one of my favourite areas of the site though.
