I thought that was him on Lust, very random.

Yeah I was listening to this with basically just Genius up on my phone and when it said Rat Boy I was sure it'd be someone else under the same name but there you go.

I dunno what to say guys, I really love this record. Hopes were pretty low after HUMBLE. confirmed it wasn't gonna be the album I wanted. Turns out I don't know what I want. It's way too soon to rank it alongside albums I bumped endlessly for months but it's gonna be a contender for me.

(Cba to stylise)

Humble, Love, XXX, Fear and Duckworth are brilliant. I'll have to listen to it through again later and get a better grasp of it. My instant impression is that it's not as cohesive as Good Kid or Butterfly, but the best stuff on there is (possibly) as good as anything he's done before.

Humble, Love

My least favourites. Still decent tracks tho.

DNA. (technically BLOOD./DNA. because that serves as a great intro), FEEL. & PRIDE. are my initial standouts.

Also Rihanna rapping a verse on LOYALTY. and not just a hook is inspired - kinda in the same way as Fergie grabbing a verse on MBDTF. Brilliant. That's gonna light up the charts.

well if they actually listened to the song and understood the context within the album and meaning, then yes.

if they ignorantly judged him/the song on the title, then probably not.

I'd like to think GFL are slightly above some Daily Mail style outrage over seeing the use of a word.

Well yes you would hope so. I wouldn't turn up to him but I'd watch him overy some other hip hoppers comfortable.

'I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, why? I made that bitch famous'

If there is one thing I love Liam Gallagher for its him commenting on that awards segment saying if he came on stage and interrupted me like that receiving an award I'd shove it up his arse! I'm embarrassed for Jay Z that he worked with him.

tbh that wasn't until well after the festival. Don't try to argue Gazza

I've no need to, you just did it for me.

Just on Feel now, album certainly feels like another triumph so far, I'm liking this a lot.

This is brand new information to me, I had no idea that was her. She's putting on some weird inflections there.

One clear advantage DAMN. has on TPAB is that you can pick a song out to vibe to without feeling like you're coming in midway thru the movie.

I've always felt like this about TPAB though. Always viewed it as a seamless story/narrative but that you can listen to the majority (if not all) of the tracks independently and still enjoy it on it's own.

Very excited to give this a listen, I'm in Oslo at the moment but get back home tomorrow so will give it a full listen then. I've managed to avoid listening to any of the tracks so far, excluding HUMBLE.

Not thrilled about it tbh guys. Hope it grows on a second listen, the second half of the album I enjoyed a fair bit more. Just nothing about it feels exciting in the way the couple before it were. I dunno.

Also why did he put rat boy on it jesus christ

It slaps. Whole lotta bass there. Which is great.

LOYALTY, LUST (that flow is insane) and LOVE standout for me. I knew The Alchemist produced a track on it and I tried to guess which. Correctly identified it as FEEL which is probably my favourite beat on there.

All in all, pretty damn good. HUMBLE is the only I'm not sold on - it's a jam but I think it might get old quickly which isn't really the hallmark of a Kendrick song

Nicely put. It's a super record in that respect.

Had this on all day, completely sold after a few listens.

LUST. is amazing. DNA. and ELEMENT. also big standouts for me. And that gear change in XXX.!

LUST. was the track that clicked with me also. A peach.

I'll be honest, i was nervous about this record. Yesterday evening i was worried he was going to fuck it up. Genuinely on edge about it. Found it on spotify this morning as soon as i got up, and by the time i got to work, my fears were assuaged. It's a great fucking record.
