The timings almost to much of a coincidence for it not to be surely. The fact it's Jo Wiley and also what with the balance week starting on Wednesday and lack of rumour of anything else, plus she'd sit about right with the big name Sunday headline slot.

It definitely all adds up. I'm surprised she's not even listed as ® on the eFests page. Does Neil have some definitive information ruling her out? If not, the signs are there.

The timing does seem to be....auspicious. But on Radio 2....?

yeah i'm really hoping it's just a coincidence, and it being on Radio 2 gives good favour to that, but damn i just can't help shake that feeling that the last fifteen minutes will see Jo ask her if she has any big plans for the summer and her replying 'well, i'm headlining Glastonbury'

he said a couple of days ago that he's had info that Madonna's people have said she's not the headliner (or something similar), but with everything being so quiet this year, they're not exactly just gonna leak it at the last minute, are they?

Possibly Neil doesn't want to commit to anything as he's not had any reliable info whether it is her or not. Emily did say it was someone not rumoured, though I think she has been in the general media though not on Efests.

Radio 2 ?

I thought Michael was always moaning at the lack of youngsters ?

That will have the Reading and Leeds kids deserting that festival and heading to Somerset in their thousands next year.

I think it's safe to say today can be our last day of chill out (like that's gonna happen)

I reckon could drop anytime from tomorrow.

Don't know what my current guess is, it changes so much. I'm edging madonna but I do feel it might be british as never had three non british. I just can't think of anyone british. Depeche mode would be my best guess

I would imagine Madonna has clamped down on the 'leaks' within her camp after her album leaked last year, so I doubt anybody would be giving any info away about her anyway.

That radio interview is suspiciously conviniant time wise, especially as Madonna rarely does radio interviews. However, I suspect she'll be discussing 'ageism' in the music business rather than a Glastonbury appearance, but we shall see.

It's interesting, the radio 2 thing. But isn't the Sunday slot more of that type of feel than say a Friday when more " edgier " bands might headline? Kasabian aside we've had Mumfords and Stevie recently and I'm not sure if the news of them headlining came out on Zane Lowes show or not? Glasto have done bloody well to keep in quiet that's for sure.

Re: choice of radio station, let's not forget Radio 1 effectively banned Madonna. It wouldn't make much sense for them to announce her as Glastonbury headliner after distancing themselves so much from her music. If she was going to announce anywhere else, and they wanted to keep it with the BBC, would it really be anything other than Jo Whiley on Radio 2?

The stars are aligning.

We are fucking experts at finding SOMETHING to cling onto every day!

Hahaha, if we didn't have something, we'd probably be sectioned.

This thread has been an incredible ride really, rollercoastering through highs and lows, credible rumours and absurd unlikelihoods. I'll almost be sad to see the focus shift on clashes and practicalities. It's been a trip.

well she has a new album to promote (which is apparently her worst selling album since the early 90s), so it's not really that surprising that she's doing these interviews/PR all over the place...
