i'd convinced myself that it was gonna be Madge overnight, but yeah... Prince or Flo then. quite a big extreme between being ecstatic and majorly disappointed

Were they really going to keep quiet for this long though and then just think yup it's Madonna and people will know the Friday evening before.

They've certainly done well as if it was Taylor, they've easily had time to announce but I don't think it will. I also don't think there will a special guest as everywhere will be straight on it that it's Prince and then he'll pull lol.

If that is the case then I really... Really doubt it is p****

I would tend to agree with this, I don't imagine he will have been booked really early on, unless he was booked REALLY early on and when he was in the UK touring last summer, but that's highly unlikely

Is there any reason why Taylor Swift now seems to be less likely? I'm only asking this as her name isnt cropping up in this thread as much as it was a month or two back

She's got gigs on the Saturday, Monday and Tuesday and 4 in a row might be a bit much. She's been downgraded to a rumour as well so I guess Neil's had info or heard that she's not doing it.

Thinking of it from a purely business point of view i'd say it makes sense to be as ready as they can be for an anouncement later this week or early next week.

Balance window opens (which gets some press attention by itself), see how payments go (find out more info each year on how close the festival is to selling out regardless of line-up/how well current announcements have gone) then announce what you have/want to if and when you need to. Could be this thursday evening or next tuesday morning (assuming not on the bank hol weekend). A line-up announcement mid balance window is a very public reminder for people to pay up.

Unless they have a new tactic of booking him, I can't see him signing for glastonbury a few months or so I guess...

Risky about the whole "bump up" florence thing. Surely if they are unsure if she's gonna headline or not they can't announce her either if Prince isn't ready to be announced... Unless prince is booked?

I apologise i'm still a bit drunk from last night my brain isn't working.

If you are going on Neil's trusted word, which I am, Taylor Swift, is looking unlikely, mostly due to her run of shows, Madonna, isn't playing due to info coming from close to her, The Stone Roses aren't playing with the info coming from Neil, from a personal opinion the fact Neil seemed to say the headliners have been signed up for a while, that makes Prince look unlikely

I keep feeling myself going round in circle, the individual members of Radiohead touring is the only thing putting me off thinking it could be them

Other headliners or nothing. I reckon that's why they didn't play the other year. They were offered a slot they considered beneath them.

Yeah I'd agree with that. Hopefully by the time the next album's out they get booked to headline Other but I'm not sure it will happen.

I've never known the festival to be so quiet about a headliner without the acts most rumoured publicly having an embargo like Metallica last year. I'm really beginning to think it could be P*****

A questione: we seem to be waiting for the big act on Sunday, but what if the "big acts" were Foos and KW?

It's hard not to dream, but there's a good chance you're right. Foo Fighters and Kanye West are HUGE. And with all this talk of Emily working bands up the bill, it could be another Mumford & Sons headliner. Maybe they're just holding off until after the ticket window because it's not a great booking. Maybe we'll get the poster and see McBusted at the top.
