the money has gone on a number of different acts at different points over the last 2 months or so, and there's no reason to think the money is going on the right act this time just because it's going on one particular act.

Of all the names getting chucked around, the Roses are the ones I think are about the least likely of all, tho given my record this year that probably means it's them. :P

:sarcastic:

things have had a bit of an upgrade since I was last at the farmhouse so it's changed a bit now (and it might actually look more like other businesses now), but you're about spot on except it was more of a shack than a garage.

How long ago was that?

Unfortuantley it wont be The Roses! :( A fan met John Squire the other day and got his guitar signed by him, they had a chat and this is what he has found out. if its true of course...

"Sorry for the delay and thanks for the likes. You can stop sharing but we appreciate it. Mr Squire was positive about new material. He told Rob that the original plan to tour the old show, then get together and rehearse new stuff, record, release and tour new stuff stood. They haven't rehearsed since Japan but are due to soon. It sounded like rehearsals would include new stuff. We don't know when but a third coming is definitely coming! So all Roses fans can sleep soundly knowing that the band has not split."

Positive news nonetheless if true!

while i cannot claim to be in that number, nor anything close to a fan, i'll always appreciate the artistic mind that gave the world Cyrano Masochiste. It's truly beyond parody.

What a prize bell end. I cant tell if he's taking the bloody piss or not

Till you made me think about it I'd not realised just how long it was since I have been to the Farmhouse area - which much be around 5 years I guess.

I think the new replacement buildings are 2 or 3 years old, tho.

presumably it was a bit more organised when Festival Republic were involved?

it might well be the case that the licencing part is run that tightly still now, I've no idea. In Melvin's time it was run pretty much separately from everything else as far as I'm aware, tho of course a lot of so-ordination was still required to ensure that all the different areas stayed within the licence, etc.

Everything is probably well-organised in reality, after all, it's a hell of a big operation to run and keep together. I was more making the point that it doesn't much look like it is, at least from some of the angles you might go at it.

Manchester Evening News on the Roses today: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/music-nightlife-news/stone-roses-headlining-glastonbury-william-9057443

But industry insiders have again insisted there is no basis to the growing Roses rumours.

Our well-placed source told the M.E.N.: “The Roses are definitely not doing Glastonbury this year, 100 per cent not.”

Reading the lads comments who met John Squire a couple of days ago, it would seem highly unlikely anyway. Very positive comments about the band recording and playing again, but he said the band haven't rehearsed since Tokyo 2013, and the plan after the comeback tour was to rehearse new songs, record them then play live. We're only 2 months away from the festival now. We surely can't look past bands who have gigs/festivals to sell tickets for this summer now.

Bad news for some/most of you on here but my coldplay earwig has heard from the inner circle that they were not going to be there but now they are, could be headlining sunday, could be Wednesday openers could just be going as punters.

I personally doubt headlining but could maybe pop up to test their new album out.

I stopped buying Warburtons thick toastie bread because of the idiots that buy it.

Reminds me of the good old days, bank holiday weekends with the kingsmill boys, down on the seafront parading out souped up lunchboxes before the big scrap with those warburton twats.
