It'll get to mid-June and Prince decides he's not playing, and Glastonbury are at a loss to what they can do with the SPECIAL GUESTS TBA on the full lineup. Cut to Sunday night when 100k+ are in the field amidst rumours of Bowie, Stone Roses, Led Zeppelin. Clock hits 10 and the Kaiser Chiefs banner drops down and the first chords of I Predict a Riot ring out.

Bloody hell, can you imagine?!

Site being closed off early, no headliner announcement until June, so much secrecy around the line up this year. Could be is be Bowie? Could be secretly rehearsing to see if he's up to it, could be getting the pyramid ready a bit early for him to check out and see how he feels!

This theard has driven me mad! The thread has made it seem way more intense, we've had the line up later than this before, but it just makes it feel like it's taking forever

That could make sense. Mind it would only really make sense if it was that he was playing his own big show or another festival though wouldn't it? Small gigs aren't going to make any difference to a Glastonbury announcement.

Would they dare try and keep that last headliner until the program is printed?

But you know what that Purple bastard is like, spontaneity is his thing isn't it? I wouldn't be surprised, IF this June thing is true it comes down to two acts for me. Him, or FM. Back to fucking square one if so.

Isn't that FB Glastonbury group famous for spouting complete and utter bullsh!t?

Exactly, think a pinch of salt is required here.

I assume as the resale date is 19th April, but you can still get a refund until 8th May, that there is a second resale date after 8th May?

If line up isnt out before 8th May I'm going to have to get a refund as I now have a wedding I should really go to on Glastonbury weekend but if it is Bowie, I'll upset the family and bin the wedding off, but it will need to be Bowie or such similar act of interest to me.

I have met Michael a number of times and the chance that he would tell someone he had never met before when the announcement would happen but the festival would keep that info from

137000 people who have bought tickets is a bit far fetched.....

GlastoSimon is right.........get the salt out

All has been said about the topic of announcement. It's absolutely fine if it may still take a while for the announcement, but just one official statment with a rough timeframe would be nice. It wasn't the case that we didn't know the lineup the last few years so a little "Won't happen before refund date." or anything like that and I would be perfectly fine. But this silence is annoying.

I'm sure there's a reason for the delay, and we all love Emily and Michael, but I can't help be a bit annoyed that we haven't had at least some names by now!

It is quite exciting though... they must have a big name for all of this secrecy. Nobody has any idea what's going on (including Neil - when was the last time that happened?) and they don't seem to want to put out a line up poster with TBA for a third headliner, like they did last year... why?!

But the FULL line up has always been released in June. Don't know what everyone is getting their knickers in a twist for.

Exactly.

The full line up would obviously include the third headliner, so the change merely indicates there might be something to this persons supposed conversation with Michael and the alleged contractual obligations relating to the 3rd headliner. I would assume an announcement of sorts will still come before June, although stranger things have happened at sea.

I do also remember Neil hearing something about IOW and Glasto being "chummy" about a headliner. While this could be complete bull, it would add weight to the 3rd headliner delay and the possibility of the Mac.

Not posted in a verrrrry long time but been following this thread and it's sending me actually loopy.

If this "Not until June" thing is to be believed, surely that points to Fleetwood Mac?

Playing the UK, gap in the schedule...but exclusive to IOW. But surely once they've played IOW they're no longer a exclusive to them?

Glastonbury could then announce Mac the week of June 15th before the festival?

Boom!

If this "Not until June" thing is to be believed.

The rest of the lineup beforehand to get acquainted with, the headliner on the Sunday morning in the Glastonbury Free Press. Sorted.

What a brilliantly bold move this would be! I am sure it would get leaked but the idea in principle is an amazing bit of guts!

Official website now says:

The full line-up will be announced closer to the festival

Where as before it said Spring

Thing is, everyday from now is closer to the festival. It'll be at least the last full week in April, provided we do get a poster this time and not just the positions.

    • Disclosure Day was fun.  It's very Spielberg but probably not an all time classic Spielberg. Nothing particularly original but it's well made, good performances (exceptional performance by Emily Blunt) and for a 2 hour plus blockbuster it flew by. Not everything worked, but I don't want to say why to avoid spoiling. Then again, it's not like there are too many shocks in this film.
    • Do these early birds tickets sell out fast, or is it ok to wait for the w-e ?
