Slightly off current topic, but a quick check of Twitter shows that Emily is getting A LOT of tweets complaining about the lack of lineup, and the official Glasto Twitter is getting even more. I don't think the Eavii are the sort of people to want to intentionally piss their punters off, so it wouldn't suprise me if we got a similar poster to last year this evening (with names on but no stage splits) as a last resort if they are unable to get the mysterious 3rd headliner to sign on the dotted line today.

Can I bring everyone back to this article/interview with M Eavis months back. When he stated he had
1) already booked three headliners
2) one headliner was british/'he' is british
("He's definitely British, but the band are not British any more.")
3) No Prince
Are we saying all of these statements were lies?

Michael definitely stretches the truth a little sometimes from what I've heard.

why not? they arent a screamy shouty heavy metal band, roses at their peak had wide mainstream appeal. the hype generated by such a reunion if it happened would be difficult for any festival to resist trying to get a piece of. certainly if a metal band like metallica could do the headline slot then a rock n roll act like g&r would have no problems.

youd be talking one of the most wanted reunions in the world of music as we know it. you thought the stone roses reunion was hyped? try an act who were massivly popular the world over and not just the uk :P

I for one would sell my soul for tickets.........for rock n roll.......god I cant belive I used that pun

I totally understand where your coming from but Axl's actions in previous years must make even a sort after performance like a Guns N Roses reunion a risky show, they wouldn't be able to televise cause it wouldn't have started yet. Glastonbury wouldn't be the place to do it, it would probably more for either R&L, download or sonisphere

If it`s a bloke who performs with a decent backing band, begins with P and it`s not Prince then it must be Nutini B)

Not until I see his name on the Pyramid screens as Next and the purple confetti cannons are loaded will I believe it.

Goosebumps. Pure unadulterated stomach churning, unable to concentrate on my work, dry mouth goosebumps.

I think Roy Orbison and George Harrison would scare off the crowd these days.

Ah right - those two. The worst ones. Who cares about them?

Wouldn't take much effort to substitute in a couple of ringers, mind. Justin Timberlake Wilbury and Dumpy Dunnell Wilbury are probably sitting by the phone. I doubt that Leo Sayer Wilbury is busy.

Reckon you right. Might go to bed and hide under the duvet till we know one way or another. Mind if it's Flawrence, I don't think I'll bother getting up again.

1st July 2014.

i'd be of the opinion that he thought he'd be getting Fleetwood Mac then (probably in early negotiations), and that statement was based on that.

FM announced 2 dates in London on the same weekend as Glastonbury, back around November, and they were separate to their other London dates and announced after them too, so to me, that seems like they were keeping the weekend free to play Glastonbury, but IoW gave them a better offer, they went with IoW, then filled up that weekend with their own gigs.

the cynic in me cant help but believe that we are deliberately being spoon fed false information by people on the inside who know its Prince because if it leaks it wont happen.

if this is the case keep covering, because good god it better be prince!

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
