I mentioned before that I was told that Elton was playing (although didn't specify whether he was headlining or not) by someone who works for an events company who booked Elton for one of his stadium gigs in June. Apparently he's playing in Germany that night though so it can't be him (does anyone have the link to this festival he's playing that night btw?)

It's part of his tour I believe.

IMO - Foos, Kanye & Prince is a pretty disappointing set of headliners for the greatest festival on the planet.

However, for me, it's all about West Holts, Acoustic and Avalon, so not really bothered.

I totally agree with this and all these lot shot me down when I said this, it's not weak, in fact it's very good but there's something about it that's just a bit meh

hmmm .... someone has just said something to me which suggests its not Prince, tho that could really be the result of keeping up deceptions.

But anyway, who else could it be that's be that's a massive act, a solo(ish) star, and an act they've been after for years? Give me names, people!

Bob Dylan (Cant Sing anymore)

Kylie Minogue (not massive anymore)

Taylor Swift (Trying for years? I think not!)

Robbie Williams (lol?)

Noel Gallaghers HFB (Latitude and recent comments suggest no)

Madonna (recent suggestions make this unlikely

Rhianna (trying for years maybe not but no doubt she's big enough in terms of record sales)

Billy Joel (nah)

Phil Collins (could you fucking imagine? Glastonbury would never recorver...)

I've tried Neil.

All roads lead to purple

Edit:

Elton John (supposedly busy)

Sir Cliff (...)

Three words: "retired" and "heart condition".

He managed to keep The Next Day a secret until it was announced, when everybody thought he'd never record again. Doesn't seem too far fetched that he might want a final show to round off his career. Plus there were rumours of a second new album a few weeks back which might prove to be the perfect way to promote it? It won't have the surprise factor of TND going for it after all.

If it is I will bake you a cake. That's a promise.

I'll hold you to that. One enormous blueberry muffin would do the trick, feel free to follow me around the site all weekend holding it too, for when I eventually get peckish.

My money is on Bowie.

It's not a festival he's doing, just a gig

I don't think I spoke to a single person that night who was at C&S.

Anyone on here go? Curious to know how busy it was (not curious enough to endure any footage).

I watched the Stones for about 45 minutes, and what I saw I enjoyed but the sound was terrible from the very back of the field (past the tree) and the noise of people chatting annoyed me so I caught the second half of Chase & Status. And loved it.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
