So does Michael Eavis's statememnt regarding the line up announcement being on April 1st look more likely? I reckon it will be out at 8am that day

Not necessarily, it's going to be either the 1st or 2nd April, i doubt they'd leave it any later than that. The dates were pretty much the same as last year and it came out on the thursday.

pretty sure it came out on Friday 4th at 8am.

Yup. Morning of my birthday. My girlfriend at the time was pretty annoyed that I was more excited by the line up than by anything she had got me as a present.

I think it sounds like the right call in hindsight :P

Could seasick headline one of the smaller stages (not the pyramid)

Was second from top on West Holts last time so could probably managed that.

Headlining a smaller stage would be brilliant - or in the fading sun as a sub on a bigger one. New album and making appearances on radios etc this morning.

Here's hoping.

I think IoW have done quite well this year. I gather that they aim to put on an event similar to Glasto, if they are getting Fleetwood and Blur certainly they have excelled in getting two solid headliners.

I think that Emily though did note something of extreme importance in that Guardian article in reply to the Kanye backlash, and that was to do with that fact that headliners do the festival for a reduced fee and because of this Glasto is able to donate considerable sums of money to charities

Comments and facts like these really help keep the music industry a clean and healthy place. It sends out the message to clueless cynics that the festival isn't profit obsessed.

I think Fleetwood have succumbed to greed. Don't you think?

Succumbed to greed? They're not honor bound to play the festival nor do they likely hold it in the esteem than you or I do. IOW will have offered them more money to play than Glastonbury and they've decided to play that instead. I'm not sure why they deserve criticism for this.

The price for a ticket to their tour on the other hand.. You could make a pretty valid argument that that is greed. Supply and demand at the end of the day.

I think they are a greedy bunch but it's possible that playing the Isle of Wight festival was a big deal to a group like FM given the history of that particular festival too. The fact it pays more dosh too was a deal sealer for them.

I wouldn't count on it. I'm under the impression from the contact Scott had with them yesterday that nothing has been scheduled for announcement, and no one is thinking one will be done any time very soon.

Chill ... it'll come when it comes, and it'll have all of the same names on it when the festival starts no matter when it's announced. :)

we've been on Amber alert for a few days now

Now that's switched to red. It's official

The lineup could come any minute...

It's not official. Glasto HQ told Neil that it's unlikely to be released this month. We're still on Amber until next Wednesday. Stand down.

With that in mind, do you think they'll hold it till after payment?
