With everyone involved from Web designers, bookers and promoters to dj's and media darlings the number of people who know must now run into the 100's

Well, people are keeping their lips tighter than a nun's chuff this year. Much to my deep sadness.

why do you think every tom dick and harry around every band that's playing Glasto gets given the full line-up?

Why do you think web designers are working on the announcement when Glasto don't yet know when the announcement will be or what will be announced on that unspecified date?

Sorry guys...only dipping in and out of the threads this morning, due to work.

Have I missed the flurry of posts here commenting on Blur's announcement for IOW and how, therefore, they are 'out of the running' for the Sunday night?

Or do we think that it makes no difference to their likelihood?

Ben

Not unreasonable to think that their internal web dev person would have a pretty good idea about who is playing I guess, probably most of the office know wouldn't they? But if only a handful of people know then any leaks would be far easier to track back so no point in letting slip info before the official announcement I guess.

i think they WANT to release it in april, as they said to neil- 'unlikely to be this month' unless a leak forces them to release earlier, think this has happneed before??

The 'unlikely to be this month' could just be there are a few outstanding contracts to be signed before they can annouce the first lot of bands and they don't expect to get them all signed by the end of this month.

Dave already denied them headlining on XFM didn't he?

Wouldn't have thought so. They'll have the template design for the line up created I'd guess and then a short time before the annoucement, will be given the final design with the acts included to publish on the website.

Random side story, I was chatting to a girl in the queue to Thekla last night and she noticed my wristbands and asked where they were from. I said Glastonbury and she tutted at me "That's just full of old people, I much prefer Reading." I was horrified.

Was she 16? And by old people did she mean people who were older than 16?

Okay so I went to reading when I was 16 and it seemed like everyone else was 16

Yeah as far as I know (friend who is web designer and has been known to do festival websites and the like) they use names from the lineup from the previous year to create a new template for this then just replace the names when they are told them (obviously a few adjustments would be needed due to name lengths) also this can all be done in a day.

They might know something if they've been told to make a purple template.

It's got to the point now that those trolls have made me so pumped for the Roses I'll be disappointed if it's anyone but them. Not even Jesus Christ himself playing jazz flute or 2Pac rocking up from the dead would suffice, let alone the potential prospect of Gary Barlow and the rest of Take That belting out their unique brand of absolute garbage from the Pyramid stage. You F****** B******* trolls!!!

The more I think about the delay in announcing the third headliner .. The more I convince myself it's someone 'special'. Makes no sense to not have announced it otherwise. There really is no reason to delay this late.

apart from them not announcing yet in most other years

I actually think the opposite - I think they've had the 'special' one in Kanye, and the third will be announced with the entire lineup so that if people aren't as impressed there's a million other things to look at as well..

    • Based on previous times that rules quite a lot out of early summer festivals into the August runs.
    • No dramas man, I just like to follow others journeys as well. Get the inspiration, give out inspiration and the outdoors is the clear the head place to do it. I'm heading out for a easy trail run today I think, 10k- 10 mile we'll see how we go. I've got a half marathon in October I'm well unprepared for hahs
    • The Cheap Thrills at Mountford Hall, Liverpool.    They've been around for a while and have built up a large local following. Last night was their biggest yet, at a sold out 2,200 capacity venue.    It was a big old joyous, indie singalong from start to finish, the band clearly having the time of their lives. The debut album is out next month and they seem to be going down well on the festival circuit, maybe their time has finally come.   2 supports, I unfortunately missed Credits but the few songs they have on Spotify sound good, Americana vibes. The other was M60, reportedly Gary Neville's favourite band. If that's true, he's as clueless about music as he is football. To be fair, their sound was poor, maybe with a clearer sound they'd have been better but it was pretty dull.
    • I can see them all merging along with the Tory’s . Restore curently couldn’t muster enough candidates to be a viable option . I lasted 4 mins and couldn’t watch any more . Lowe is just dull along with racist
