that's not unreasonable to assume

If that's aimed in my direction (and I assume it is since I can't see any other new accounts posting recently), I can assure you I've no other account. Why the animosity towards newbies, might I ask? Are we not entitled to an opinion?

FYI, I've always been an active reader of this thread. Just never commented before.

more 'techguy', and i didn't notice any animosity towards anyone, but opinions and all that.

Don't worry too much about it, just a lot of newbies tend to be 'trolls' at this time of year! It'll probably get less tense once the line-up is announced

This thread is nuts! I'm fucking nuts, not interested in headliners, never watched a Pyramid headliner in all the times I have been- yet here I am all day on here!

However if (when?) The Cure are announced as the 3rd headliner - Pyramid here I come :-)

Jesus, imagine if it was The Cure, what an outcome that would be, The Hanging Garden belting out from The Pyramid Stage on the last night of the festival is the stuff dreams are made of.

Am I literally the only one who wouldn't give a toss about seeing prince? Purple rain thats all I know.....and I'm guessing it'd be same for most people,....he's never been a hugely popular artist in the uk.....maybe when he was at his peak but even that was a long long time ago....baffling why so many think he'd be able to pull off a headline slot at any uk fest let alone glasto,

He has protected his legacy, hes not seen a lot so is a special attraction, hes a diva, he puts on a great live show, is a great musician, has a large back catalogue and has tunes that blokes and girls enjoy equally.

I'm not a massive fan but any festival that gets Prince has booked a tier 1 act and a guaranteed packed field.

Call us "picky" when it comes to "first post experts" on who is playing.

For purely selfish reasons I don't want him to play as my boyfriend will want to see him and I'll probably be guilt tripped into seeing him and I'll be bored and everyone else will be enjoying it and it'll be an all around terrible experience and I'll be thinking "why couldn't it have been George Michael?".

I have to say until the rumours last year and the super fandom from people on this board I just viewed prince as another washed up 80s pop star snd would certainly never have linked him with headline slots in modern times .....has he had some kind of transformation I'm not aware of? Lol

I'm in the same boat, I'll 100% be elsewhere. Don't get it all, everyone is different though..

    • Hot on the heels of outdoor gig number 1, the second arrived quickly! Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Malahide last night (lovely sunny evening for it!). As usual, fantastic gig (ebbed and flowed from tender to feral). Since they aren't touring an album it was very different to the Wild God shows from last year, with a bunch of tracks that hadn't been played in a good while wheeled out. Highlights for me were a blistering rendition of Hiding All Away (that merged into the end of White Elephant) and a touching interpretation of A Rainy Night in Soho to close the set (well after curfew!). @Superscally, still nothing from Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! (they really must not like that album!)
    • I’m putting the 2026 code and it’s not applying the discount. Does somebody know why?
    • I think I’ve asked this before, but do we know why this is a ‘never happen’ one? I understand with Queen and Duran Duran, but I’ve never seen anything written saying one way or another if they’d do it. Would be an incredible get.
    • Here we goooo!   I never thought I'd say this at Prima Porto, famous for its rainy weather... I wish it'd be a bit colder ;D
    • I saw an interview the other day with Simon and he was asked about Glastonbury legends spot and he did say they consider themselves headliners and also said something like "The legends slot is a kind of headline slot" The actual wording might be slightly different but it gave an indication that maybe?
