Nah. As mentioned, was being discussed as a potential co-headliner for V and headlined Wireless last year. He sells out arenas in a flash, Lily Allen plays academies.

yeah, i edited it as he's probably a bit bigger than Lily Allen these days, but he's certainly nowhere near headlining Glastonbury level.

potentially co-headlining V is certainly a step below headliner.

Yeah probably. Sub-level at the moment for me too. A new album could (probably would) push him up to the next level but with him not appearing anywhere this summer I don't think its imminent.

no, he's not big enough.

he's a 3rd last on the Pyramid act, maybe sub in a weak year.

You couldn't be more wrong.

Currently he's at that level where he could be a massive sub or a weakish headliner. Another successful album & he'll undoubtably he a headliner.

Whether or not Glastonbury would book him is another matter.

I agree, but it doesn't change the fact that he is a massive international act.

So many people seem to struggle on this forum to differentiate between their own subjective taste & the objective size of an act.

And both of his albums were UK number 1s. And hes had 3 UK number 1 singles. But his last single got to number 83.

Hes still fucking terrible though.

It's going to be somebody out of the blue, isn't it?

We've pretty much discussed, and dismissed, all but a few 'expected' ones now.

EDIT: And by 'expected', I now mean the likes of Kanye and Swift. Even those are a little bit tenuous as guesses.

The size of an act should have zero bearing on their worthiness as headliner.

Can they cut it live and can they carry the traditions of the festival forward.

Westlife, objectively, meet your criteria for example - but not mine.

It could actually be Blue?

 You might be right there. Given how desperate people are for reunions these days, it won't be long before the hoards are calling for Blue to headline ;)

EDIT again: That reminds me, Blur haven't been ruled out. But again, probably a little bit tenuous.

Obviously subjective criteria comes into it on the festival bookers terms, which is why I said 'whether or not Glastonbury would book him is another matter'.

Don't try to be a smart arse when you knew exactly what point I was trying to put across.
