Florence + The Machine just posted either a promotional image, an album cover... or something triangle related to their facebook

These are two ancient element symbols. The top one for air/sky and the bottom for water/sea. Not pyramid, thank god.

With 2 established headliners in Foo Fighters and Coldplay surely it was always going to be someone like Florence for the 3rd??

Not a bad trio I suppose and will keep the usual pyramid regulars happy.

mmm Florence, Foos and Coldplay seems like a likely trio if i'm honest.

John Giddings comments are interesting, the straws are most definitely clutched

One up on Fleetwood Mac, either he was serious desperate for the foos or it's something magic in the pipeline

John Giddings favourite band is Pink Floyd, haven't they just done something?

Giddings (and pretty much every UK festival this year) desperately wanted the foos so the fact glasto got them is always gonna sit badly with him.

Anyway he could talk in a stance that Glastonbury always has a stronger lineup than IOW regardless if IOW pulled one strong headliner.

Released an album without Waters?

I'll pass

Definitely pass on Pink Floyd without Waters

As for Giddings, reading that it definitely seems like he's talking about what would be GF strongest headliner this year in comparison to F Mac, that's the way I read it anyway

He shared efestivals article about Coldplay being a headliner, that also mentioned the foos with the word...

"Interesting..."

Then the comments....

  • Only interesting if you know that you have booked one of the bands mentioned in the article for the iow festival john!!!

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
