I did put Fleetwood Mac but obviously the Stones would be a bigger draw/ crowd/ hype/ event wise... For that reason if Eavis had a choice, and had to choose between the 2 then it's a no brainer..

However for selfish reasons I vote Fleetwood Mac..

There is no contest,the Stones songs are just rehashed old blues songs and Micks put on southern drool is just irratating,.Where as FM are totally original,Rumours has got to be one of the best albums ever, proper anguish about there love and hate for each other and then they all sit down and write The chain,to here them play that will probably go down as one of the best glastonbury moments ever

This is a difficult one. With these legendary, long running old bands you always hype back to when they were great and after the gigs always seem to be slightly deflated after the event. Although i would have to say that certainly was not the case after Stevie Wonder in 2010! I sat and trolled through U tube on Fleetwood Mac stuff yesterday and at the time it came out i was really into Rumours.There isn't that much footage live but what there is is all about Stevie Nicks, she was stunning back then. Her voice makes them IMO. I don't think Christine Mcvie is still with them, though i might be proved wrong but can't see her in any later videos since the 90's. Love, Dreams, the Chain, Go your own way and Rhianna, but after that?

As for the Stones they have a much bigger catalogue although i wouldn't say i was their greatest fan. Loved their 60's and 70's stuff, Sympathy for the devil, You can't allways get what you want, Paint it Black, and Angie, but would they sing them? I guess on the pure history and size of the two bands and the hype i'd probably prefer the Stones in the hope i wouldn't get let down. But a after a few cans i guess it would just become a big sing along night, which is what you want on a closing set of the festival.

Although most people remember the bass from The Chain as the start to F1, before and after that instrumental section there are some great harmonies.

Sadly, FM were one of the most self-destructive of bands with Peter Green going off the rails, Jeremy Spencer joining some cult and in their later incarnation marriage bust ups and inter-group affairs. Despite all that, they managed to keep writing, recording and touring.

Astonishing the power of money. It kept FM and The Stones going.for years.

That's why I enourage people to look out Bill Wyman and the Rhythmn Kings, who did it for the love of music not themoney.

It was the time Mick was playing the built in drum suit on his clothes thingy. I think they were a support band for someone and for some reason think it was either Wembly stadium or Cardiff Arms park. Anyone have any ideas?

I remember Stevie having great stage presence.
