And just to go briefly back to The Boss for a minute, I should smugly add that I accidentally came face to face with him as he was making his getaway from Hampden the other night. Saw a light on in the windows of the garages below the East Stands and, on looking through, saw 'Lilyhammer' Steve climbing into his limo. As I was giving him a wave, Asbury Park's finest sprang out of nowhere and smacked the window, causing me to leap like a startled Alpine chamois. Gave me *that* grin and he was on his way into the deepening Mount Florida night.

Nice end to the evening.

I was in the vicinity of that. Got a wave off Max. Was strangely pleased

The three variables last night turned out to be CYHMK, When The Whip Comes Down and - er - Under The Boardwalk with Aaron Neville.

So no Moonlight Mile and instead a version of maybe their worst ever cover version (which I happen to quite like, regardless of how crummy it is).

Can You Hear Me Knocking again! A boy can dream :)

Apologies to the hardcore if this is a really dumb question, but are they playing "Monkey Man" from "Let It Bleed" of late ?

matters not, just curious.

don't think they've played it this entire tour

Thanks FloorFiller - ah well, will be fckng amazing regardless !

I'm looking forward to observing the demographics at this... Just a hunch but I bet there will be loads of unexpected "yoot" there - and I think not just for box-ticking.

I was fortunate enough to see them 20 years ago, and was totally amazed by Jagger's energy then, let alone now.

Have a blinder, everyone.

I suspect you're right - a forty-something friend of mine is going to Chase & Status while his 15 year old son will be at the Stones!

Have a blinder, everyone.

You too :)

The iconic rock band will top the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm on Saturday (June 29), and frontman Mick Jagger has been studying DVDs of past headline performances to prepare.

"Festivals are great to be at, but not always the easiest things to play," he told the Radio Times. "You've got to really work a bit, but I think it's gonna be a lot of fun.

"We're looking forward to it and I'm thinking about the setlist for the day and how we're going to deal with it. You've got to try and make sure the first number really cooks... gets everyone confident.

"If it doesn't, you've got to put it behind you. So that first number's got to be something you're super-confident with. It's no good doing a slightly unknown number that the audience isn't going to deal with."

Fresh quotes

Here's Keith:

"It's almost as if you were finally destined to play Glastonbury, you know. There were many years when we were offered it and turned it down ... but I look at it as a culmination of our British heritage, really. It had to be done and it's going to be done. And we'll see what happens."

And here's Mick:

"All my kids are going to be there so I'm going to be visiting them in the days before the actual show and they have all kinds of activities set up for me to do."

The Stones are my big must-see and have been listening to this at work today. The way Jagger stats acting like a right chuffin' nana at 2.09 (as the song gets to its quietest!) makes me think that even if they're absolutely terrible, it will still at least be entertaining stuff!

Just back from the site and noticed they've cordoned off quite a large section at the front of Row Mead presumably as a spill off for The Stones. Also an even larger part of the Stone Circle between the wall at the top and the stones themselves.

I think that The Rolling Stones looked like a let down and all the hype was for relatively nothing. It wont be a popular view, but they werent that great from what was shown on TV. Obviously being there would be a different experience, but they didnt seem to sound that good on TV and didnt have much energy. I know they are old but the show they put on didnt seem to live up to what I expected it to. Does anyone else agree??
