As the mighty Steel Panther have quite correctly stated:

Death to Papa Roach, Blink 182
All those fucking pussies sounds like doggy-doo
Wearing baggy pants, spiking up their hair
They're not worth the crust on my underwear.

They were pretty bad last time but their tour the following year was actually really, really good. Biggest improvement of a bands live show ive seen tbh.

I don't doubt that, all I've heard is that their arena shows are actually very good. I think that's what they are now - an arena band. Them headlining last time due to reunion was decent (despite the set being crap), weren't they slated to sub-headline/low on the card at TitP a year later?

I kind of like Metronomy. Other than that, awful awful announcement.

I do like Metronomy. Nowhere near enough to go to a festival that not only books these idiots but does so 4 years after they previously played.

It'd take Tool to do that.

So happy right now! Didn't want to get my hopes up, it seemed to good to be true. Blink are my favourite band; I had to miss their O2 Arena shows in 2012 because they clashed with Download, and then they had to cancel one of thier Brixton Academy shows I was meant to be going to the next month... been desperate to see them again since then! :D

At least someone's happy.

The Kerrang announcement will be Blink again

The reception blink are getting is remarkable...

People I didn't even know where into that music are like screaming... I think

Don't shoot me

This was a good choice :|

think that speaks more about the people you know rather than the announcement being good. it's a terrible announcement, and reeks of the organisers having a lack of go-to headliners available this / next year

Blink is quite clearly a good booking, just because this forum full of hipsters doesnt like them doesn't mean they wont sell tickets. This forum is not an accurate representatioin of Reading goers

This. People saying that it's "too soon" but those people won't be so up in arms if it was The Cure or Biffy Clyro or Pulp or Muse booked to headline this year.

...actually, can we have Pulp? :P

Worst thing for me is that a lot of the people i'd go to festivals with love the announcement, and one of the only festivals that would seemingly invite them away from Reading is Global fucking Gathering. I've got tough work ahead of me, but I already messaged a couple of people the after festival video of Secret Garden Party to divert their attention from Blink :P

Im scared about where Bugg and Disclosure are going to be placed.

Will Disclosure sub again on NME? There was no mention of them headlining and I would hate it if they were on main...they would also look shit on that stage.

Bugg is obviously mainstage but how high? I would assume 3rd but a small part of me thinks he might sub to Arctics which would be horrible.

As for the rest of announcment, Metronmy, meh. I am Legion, meh, Wilkinson, who? Of Mice and Men, just another teen band to open the main stage.

Blink are a great booking who will sell tickets. Yeah they only headlined four years ago, but come August they will have had two albums out since then, and like I've said, they will sell tickets.

If it's Arctics, Blink and 'two coheadliners' then I don't think it'll sell out.
