Not a fan of Blink and think its a weak booking, but I think it shows that the info was right so I'm happy at the prospect of Arctic Monkeys playing after it looked doubtful. Would also make sense with the 'best british band in the last 10 years' so im guessing these were the two booked early on.

If they hadn't of done Dookie in full I might as well, I presumed they would play that in full first.

I saw the Dookie album drop after getting a drink from Sub Focus so that left me again with limited choice of who to see, Skrillex was not good. In fact I think I did the exact same thing as I did during Alt-J whilst watching his shitty power point on the outside screens drunk off my nut.

Thanks, the last I heard they had had a major falling out so perhaps thats the reason for not touring. Sorry I haven't been following them or much music recently.

So efestivals consensus vs general consensus...

I think there's 3 distinct groups:

Blink fanbois who are happy they're playing.

People who weren't around in 2010 so just see them as a suitable R+L headlienr.

People who were following festival lineups in 2010 and consider it a lazy booking, too soon after their last performance, and would prefer a more interesting headliner even if it's someone they didn't like.

The last group is DEFINITELY in the minority of people who go to R+L, the fest is dominated by groups who go for 2 or 3 years after GCSE/A-level exams then either stop going to festivals or migrate to other ones. That said, it doesn't mean it's a good booking. I think it's lacking in inspiration, lacking in quality, and ultimately, they lack a bit in size. They were headline size in 2010 because of reunion hype and nostalgia, and I don't see that they've been so rare since or had anything else to bump them up to compensate. I'd have compared them in size to SOAD.

That said, I don't want to be a dick and whine endlessly about them, I've had my time doing that since Lucky told us, so I'm going to hide over here and leave their fans to be happy about it.
