Stone Roses never played either did they?

having heard the interview myself, Eavis was definitely on about the Rolling Stones and not the Stone Roses.

It sounded like he hopes to get them, but that he hasn't yet. As to whether his hopes actually stack up to success this time around remains to be seen. In the end it'll come down to whether the Stones are willing to do a show for massively less than their normal fee.

It was definitely The Rolling Stones he was talking about. In other news tickets have gone up a fiver and they said you could buy 8 but it had to be on a credit card.

I had it in my head it was a debit card last time but I'm probably wrong.

Says Debit card on the website.

UK Tickets can only be bought by Debit Card or Bankers Draft/Postal Order.

if it's up to the normal gigwise standard I expect it to be them running the story that's been going around for weeks, of them playing Coachella, Glast, Roskilde, etc, etc, etc.

There were similar rumours that they were playing Coachella this year. What happened to those? .... still, if the story goes around for enough years it'll come true eventually. :P

Those recent rumours have a laughable source. It's a worthless joke, but I bet the no-mark who started the rumour is laughing his head off at how it's travelled and changed.

Gigwise was a new album with the album art apparently and they are playing glasto , didn't mention any other fests :P cba to find the link!

NME might not be to our on arcade fire/the killers but I'd say it be one or the other. Maybe both, then with Rolling Stones if they can't get GaGa or someone but that still seems rather without the unexpected for glasto. (Though I guess in a sensible reality thats the stones :P)

Neil is there another music/festival site you do trust for rumours?

By default, nope. No doubt it works that way back on efests by those other sites too.

My doubts about this Daft Punk story are nothing to do with gigwise specifically tho. This story has been going around for about a month now, and when it first surfaced I looked into it - and there's nothing about it which makes me think it might be accurate, and everything about it makes me think it's not.

It's one of those rumours which has now managed to take on a life of its own, where the rumours suggest it's ever-more certain but where there's nothing to suggest it was accurate in the first place and there's been nothing further of any substance to suggest anything more.

I could be wrong about it of course, it wouldn't be the first time. But I'm generally pretty good at being able to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Which is exactly why I don't think Lady Gaga or The Rolling Stones are going to be headlining, it's way too early to be certain about anything yet.

there's solid substance to the Rolling Stones rumour. There's even good reason to think that Gaga might show up as we know for certain she's touring.

There's absolutely nothing of substance for the Daft Punk rumour.

So did I at Leeds the same year with similar results although bloc party weren't that good. I only really liked their first album - gone downhill since then for me.

Radiohead were brilliant that night though and I'm counting on them to headline next year at what will probably be my 10th and last Glasto!

Seeing em next month too- cant wait for some more 'king of limbs and shit'...

Despite the news of Atoms For Peace's new album possibly lessening the chance of a Radiohead headline set, I was watching highlights of them at Reading 2009 today, and the setlist (taking out Creep, some In Rainbows stuff and replacing it with King of Limbs stuff) would be brilliant if they were to do it. It'd appeal to your average festival-goer too! Unfortunately I don't think they do that type of setlist anymore! This is always a good watch though...

I still think it'll be Arcade Fire, Rolling Stones and Radiohead...

The Led Zep thing will be the DVD

Just got the email from Glasto about ticket prices/going on sale on 7th Oct. This makes it seem real, and makes me scared haha.

Ahhh, if I don't get tickets I will be so devastated. My whole trip to the UK is based on Glasto...

Here are my predictions at this vague point in time for the festival circuit 2013:

Glasto: Radiohead, Killers, Rolling Stones

IOW: Stone Roses, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Aerosmith

HRC: Elton John, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones (or Neil Young, depending if Glasto is a one off for the Stones)

Download: Paramore, Tool, KISS

V Fest: Gaga, Red Hot Chilli Peppers

T in the Park: Watch the Throne, Green Day, Prodigy

Latitude: Kraftwerk, the XX, Bloc Party

R/L: Biffy Clyro, Prodigy, Blur

Bestival: Arcade Fire, Morrissey, Daft Punk
