Are Royal Blood really sub headliners? They are the most one trick pony band of all time! Hopefully they go third down like Alt-J, although I guess Alt-J were originally booked to sub were they not?

Yeah I hear only bands with many varying styles and qualities get popular nowadays. :P

But yes, if the new album is as big as the last one then they'll comfortably be big enough to sub and attract a pretty huge crowd for it. And there shouldn't really much doubt that it will be - they are incredibly well marketed.

They've got to be up there with everyone's favourite flamenco/acoustic/a capella/heavy metal covers band, Rodrigo y Gabriella for me.

The unusually limited pallete that they're working from may mean that the novelty wears off quicker than would usually be the case.

Yeah that's what I was getting at. Their gimmick surely will wear thin eventually. They are a victory for strategic marketing.

Nah this will have been planned for before the first album was even written. It'll essentially be the same but there'll be a bit of piano or synth or some bullshit on exactly the same song and it'll be heralded as some sort of branching out. Then again, the next biggest breakout bands in the UK, Oasis and Arctic Monkeys, they didn't change things for the second album but just made an inferior one so :dontknow:

Maybe they'll add a kazoo as a third instrument.

Dave Grohl kazoo solo and they've got a no. 1 record around the globe.

So yeah, basically they can knob off and someone better should sub Radiohead :P

Bruh if it happened there'll be something good on somewhere else. You're not gonna have to get there during the act before the headliner to see Radiohead from a vantage point.

If this is all the case then I can't see how Elbow will sub with RB, Nutini and GaGa about. Bon Iver opposite Sheeran maybe?

It's easy to see how. One of those is not like the others and Guy-Gar is more likely than Gaga.

Has it been noted that the source is the Daily Star - with no credible history when it comes to Glastonbury until their annual 'Oasis to headline' rumour eventually comes in - and they don't have a verbal quote or even an interview with her but a "shrug and a wink" that definitely suggested she was a special guest? Like what the fuck is that? And that's a more widely accepted rumour than The Sun saying Ed Sheeran with a mostly-good recent history when it comes to Glastonbury?

An inferior second album is allowed as long as it is still a classic. Although reaching the peak of K2 is not quite Everest , it is not something to be sniffed at.

And the Royal Blood debut album is no classic.

I assume.

It isn't. They are a good live ac, if quite formulaic. It doesn't translate as well to the studio for me.

The sound from album one is quite limited, but before I dismiss them as a 1 trick pony, I want to hear album 2.

In short - heard worse. Heard better.

If they just produce the same again and it gets boring quickly I don't see them above sub.

An article say out for Daft Punk for 2017, Noel say in Instagram that he works on a new solo album, and Lady Gaga / Weeknd ahahah

I believe in :

The Strokes - Gorillaz - Slaves...

Radiohead - The XX - Jamie T...

Stone Roses - Ed Sheeran - Justice...

is that Gorillaz, The xx and Sheeran on Other or subbing? either way, Sheeran isn't doing anything but headlining Pyramid

Ed Sheeran and The Strokes' slots there would do a switcheroo if The Strokes would ever actually play (they wont).
