Is it worth coming if nobody really knows who you are on here? I'm hardly a 'wooderson' or a 'russycarps' but it would be nice to show up and see what's going down.

At the 2011 one I spent most of the time chatting to someone who read the forum but never posted.

thanks to those who've already ordered one :)

(if you don't want a t-shirt, buy a mug you tight feckers :P)

I've got two mugs and they really are outstanding - perfectly balanced, good handle, ideal thickness, and a nice lip....Sorry, that sounds a bit dirty....

Russy bottled it last year but I remember we were all expecting him to turn up though.

Please all come and say hello. I've been going to the meets for at least 10 years (when they first moved from the Jazzworld mixing desk to Cider Bus I think, what's that 2004 or thereabouts?). Its really not that sophisticated or intimidating - we just say hello (pretending we remember each others names from here), ask each other what we've all been doing the last year since we last met up, get pissed and drift off a couple hours later to see the fireworks.

Don't anyone think about bottling it, I went last year and didn't know anybody at all, as more of a lurker and odd poster, but went any way and had a lovely time and went away in a terrible state mission accomplished.

Great set of people and if you're a first timer like I was then the info you can garner at is brilliant.

I will try. Walked past and bottled it last year.

Don't bottle it!

For starters it's not like one MASSIVE group chat, it's lots of little conversations so it's not overwhelming you can just say hi to a couple of people. Badges with usernames were handed out so not too confusing.

And then it's a nice group - there are all sorts here as our musical bickering (and worse) shows so there'll be folk you'll get on with and some you might not expect. There's the common thread of festivals so always stories to tell and things to talk about so chat is easy and quickly moves away from any on-board silly stresses and onto laughter and excitement

Just do it! At least pop by and find someone who's made you laugh and say thanks, will make it easier next time.
