Neil was fantastic, crowd looked decent by the end, maybe people are more fluid nowadays not getting into position well before the headliner starts. In the name of research I've just had a quick look at the Charli set, how can this possibly qualify as live music? No musicians, just a scantily clad woman dancing for an hour pretending to sing. She should have been booed off stage. It's incredible to me that the festival are quite happy to present this and the audience accept it. I'm clearly out of touch.

Sure, the show is high energy

The amount of coping tonight is crazy. No, people are not fluid. People were 2 hours before in place waiting for Charli.

Yes, I hadn't seen the pics in the NY thread before posting that, just going on the TV footage, it seemed busier at the end than at the start, maybe the cameras avoided the quiet areas. It clearly was a very poor turnout for the Pyramid.

yes. And we like it that way. We want you to be out of touch with a female that writes and produces their own music and has a mind of their own and expresses themselves how they do. Sure youve never met one of this in your life

Full set up now... I think anyway, not had chance to watch it yet and would prefer to with a beer in hand so waiting till 10.

Not sure how you watch her lead a constant, intricate dance routine and alongside her signing and rapping intensely for 45 mins with about 20 seconds in between as the backing track doing the lifting but each to their own

Strangely enough I was watching one of these females last night, Beth Gibbons up at the Park managed to express herself wonderfully despite being fully clothed and using a microphone for it's intended purpose. I'm a big fan of Bjork, she also writes and produces her own music and manages to sing live too despite wearing some pretty strange outfits, expressing herself as she wants, which I have no problem with. If people want to pay Charli to pretend to sing that's fine, I won't be doing it.

A surprise hit for me last year was Peggy Gou at the Park. Thought she was excellent.

 

Katy J Pearson on at the Park today at 2.00 - really looking forward to her. 

 

Watching Charli at the mo - it's ok but not really doing much for me.

There's no guarantee it's going up, the statement yesterday said it would be shown live after all but not that it would go on Iplayer,, we'll have to wait and see.

It was a note-perfect set, really tight and well-delivered, but FJM didn't crack a smile or indeed show any emotion whatsoever during the set. Maybe par for the course for him, but I found it a bit odd.
