Less than 15 years ago you got early bird VIP for 99 euros and which included unlimited beer! How times change...

And 15 years ago Orbital and Wilco were headlining.

Oh man, 2011 was epic.  Sufjan in the auditori was an all timer, clashing with Big Boi doing Outkast material in the sun

You are a small child.

I'm not the one constantly posting about the past. The festival has changed, as has the world. The festival is booking far bigger acts whether you like it or not!

...

I think that this is the last year I attended. They also had afternoon shows in Parc Central (not sure if they still do that?). It was bizarre watching the clips last weekend of huge levels of corporate sponsorship, a different generation of crowds mainly attached to their phone and hyper pop acts gyrating around the stage.

Note : not a criticism, more shock at how different everything looked.

whether looking backward or forward, this year still had many special moments, even without the Auditori you had shows at the Apolo & Paralel, 2 dream venues as far as I'm concerned

the corporate sponsorship has always been there since I've been attending (2010), I remember that band Yeasayer coming out & berating the RayBan stage sponsorship, it's just got bigger

Maybe a silly question, but what if they book Lana again already? I know most people here (including me) wouldn't be happy, but from a ticket sales perspective, she might be the best act to convince those who came for the first time this year to come again.

Thinking of sth like:

Tame Impala - Asap Rocky - older electronic act

Lana - David Byrne - Phoebe Bridgers

Lorde - The XX - My Bloody Valentine

Maybe a bit too strong.

Lorde-Tame Impala-Rosalia
MBV - Phoebe Bridgers - ?
? - ? - ?

I would say, based on absolutely nothing: David byrne either out or not being more high as a placement than the 4th name of the day.
Possibly, Pulp back due to the consistently good relationship with the festival? The national playing the opening day with a new album (mid quality, can't see them going as strong as pages of frankenstein so soon)?

Furthermore:
-  I don't buy the radiohead tour rumors. Too soon from the smile last one.
- I don't see the cure here regardless of how much they would fit. More like glastonbury 27. Reason: if they had them, they would have announced them already.

Alright I thought about it and booked my early bird. Remembered I can resell it through the app if I don't want to go in the end

After this year though. Don't be too surprised if they keep going down the pop route. Someone like Addison Rae or Tate McRae is going to be on that lineup. Hoping they tighten up the hip hop side of things, I'd expect Clipse or Pusha to be back at the very least

2026 ticket and accommodation booked.

Wish list

Doechi, Little Simz, A$AP Rocky, C Tangana (but no signs of being active), Rosalia, Mon Laferte, Pink Pantheress, Sault, David Byrne, Cabaret Voltaire. Think we will get Jane Remover, John Glacier and Kneecap bumped up after fringe/ciudad gigs this year which makes me happy. As usual also Frank Ocean, Tom Waits and Bad Bunny although this year I already have a Bad Bunny ticket secured. Onwards.

I went to Big Boi as the auditorium was full.  Also saw PiL at the proto-Mordor half an hour later.  What a start to my first ever visit!

@xxialac a couple of queries on posts you've made here and in 2025 thread -

1. I'm not sure there was a free beer deal in 2011, I'd have been on that 🙂 ..discovered a small VIP area with a free beer tap in 2012 that I shouldn't have had access to - sort of behind the Ray Ban..

2. Were you hinting earlier that the auditori *wasn't* actually in use by anyone or anything else last weekend?  Did Primavera just refuse to pay for use of it...

I doubt PS would have refused to pay for it, since they promised it would be back in 2026.

1. I'm now starting to doubt my memory. I thought I actually recall seeing it being widely talked about on forums back then but I'm not 100% sure if it was for all VIPs or a subsection of VIPs.

2. Not being a conspiracy theorist, just wondering! I certainly didn't see anyone go in or out!

I remember checking the listings at the time, and there wasn't much on. They're still up too - looks like just one of the smaller venues in use during the main festival days https://www.auditori.cat/en/esdeveniment/
