Primavera Sound 2026

yeah, increase is quite a bit, but at the same time most mid size gigs (in London) are £30-40 these days, around £200 for 3 days of non-stop music, plus the auditori being back, club shows in the city throughout the week & IF bar prices stay the same, can't really argue with that

I was thinking more about the locals.

Salaries are about half in London. The % of guiris attending goes up every year not just as there is more interest from overseas but as locals are increasingly being priced out (even with a ten percent discount)...

I'm actually going to wait until the lineup before getting a ticket this time. Will book a refundable hotel until then. Don't get me wrong I had a great time this year but I have to be honest that the lineup was not my favourite and if I didn't already have everything booked, I would have sat it out. Plus the price increase is more than I expected. I still think it's worth it when you consider how expensive gigs are these days but for me it will really depend on the lineup

Waiting for the line-up is useless for me. No matter what I think of the line-up after it is released, after a few weeks of listening to the artists I wasn't familiar with, I always end up being totally hyped. Primavera booking team constantly delivers a line-up that feels like tailor-made for me. So, why not to save few euros and buy early bird?

I  totally agree, 90% of the headliners this year sucked and I still had a great week.

I have two different points to pitch when it comes to buy tickets before the issue of the lineup:

1) On one hand you actually save money, especially when you are sure that you will be going

2) On the other hand, the concept of giving money to an organization for profit before it even decided what level of service it will deliver you is extremely dangerous, as the organization may decide at any point that they can turn part of that early cash flow into safe profit, by reducing investment in the artistic direction, which is something that over the course of years has happened to many festivals already (EXIT and Sziget to name the firsts that come to mind)

I'm tempted to buy the ticket today, but on the other hand there is this tiny voice ringing in my head saying that it's still capitalism and nobody should ever pay for something given in a black box

On 2) Primavera Sound has been doing these early birds for at least 15 years so there is ample evidence that they don't take advantage of that to put out weak lineups.

I would make an argument on the contrary - if they suddenly didn't get the money upfront, they wouldn't have enough capital to provide the required advances to the artists so would weaken the lineup considerably!

I'm buying early bird tickets since 2018. I'm not going to check the old emails and prices to count the exact sum I saved, but surely I got one ticket for free.

I understand what you're saying, but my experience was nothing but positive up to this moment. So, I stop buying early bird tickets the moment Primavera lets me down with the line-up for the first time.

exactly this.  I've been going since 2010 & not been let down.  didn't get a chance to see Charli on her Brat tour & that would have been around £70 a ticket.  obviously no idea if someone like David Byrne will be booked next year, but tickets currently £90 for his Hammersmith shows & good seats already gone, so a Primavera ticket for slightly more than double that is a no brainer for me

I will say this is the first time I've booked a hotel so early.  I'm probably getting caught up in the frenzy but I've gone for a free cancellation / no prepayment option, and then if something cheaper comes up in the next few months I'm covered, just a tip

Yeah I'm with you on that. Bearing in mind I've just spent the last week in Barna which comes with a cost. Now home and it's like, idk if I want to stump up even more money just yet. Kinda wish early birds were on sale at the end of June. Not all of us are on USAnian salary 😉
