this'll be my 11th glastonbury and ive never seen fatboy slim. its not really my thing, and now he's one of the house bands i think i'd prefer to continue to swerve him, so i can be one of the few who havnt been Cook'd

In what world are the Prodigy going to cause a shutdown of the Other stage (can this even happen? you can approach it from numerous angles) when they're also up against O Rod. Literally 0 chance. The field must be able to hold like 70k people surely at least?

40k, give or take, is the commonly quoted number.

But yeah, whatever the number it's not going to be a problematic crowd size. Too much choice at headliner time for that to be likely.

My perception of numbers is clearly off lol. But yeah 40k is still 2 big arena's worth of people. Prodigy aren't even that big.

To my mind, it is only smaller stages that can realistically be shut off such as Woodsies or Park (mainly for secret sets)

The Avril Lavigne stuff from last year was just daft from the fest, could easily have been avoided.

similar for me, I like him but I always think "well I COULD see him anytime/place, so I'll save it for the future".

Only time I've ever seen him was with Paul Heaton last year 😄

Avalon on Friday night with Ash and The Fratellis is definitely possible. I barely see any mention of Loyle Carner anywhere and it's fair to say The 1975 are divisive. Expecting a lot of old indie kids to head there to relive their youth a bit.

Yes agreed. Think the 1-2 of Ash and Fratellis will be busy, whichever way round it is. Can see Avalon getting shut as lots of people would probably stay for both. I’m hoping Ash is the sub so I can get to Maribou State

Doubt it'll cause a shutdown per se, but if the timing assumptions are correct then I reckon Rhythm of the 90s in Croissant Neuf on Sunday night will be absolutely heaving.  Post-Sunday headliner and we've no longer got yer Guilty Pleasures / Club de Fromage / Button Down Disco type events in Williams Green for people seeking a nonsense party fix.

Did these used to be a Thing?  I was always quite jealous of club nights that made it to Glastonbury.  I DJ'd at BDD many years ago.  Minor claim to fame.. https://onemoretunedjs.co.uk/djing-at-the-buttoned-down-disco-in-camdens-koko/

Seems to have been more “issues” in the past few years.

More of a talking point.

Depends what's meant by 'issues'.  Occasional bottlenecks at pinch points and stages getting really busy if acts are very popular for where they've been booked have been a fact of life for as long as I've been going.

They did indeed.  How long have you been coming, was Williams Green still around when you started? It used to be the closers in WG on Thu-Sun, finished around 3am ish.  2019 was the last one, had BDD, GP, CdF and Deptford Northern Soul Club across the 4 nights.  Was a great alternative to the SE Corner if you wanted a dance.

Maybe people are getting wise. Any one of us could do what he does live

Go on then lets see you do it.

I'm not a fan of his and I nipped into a shower at Greenpeace once as there was no que and he was playing at the Treehouse so I've showered to him.

I bet he deosn't moan about backpacks though
