Which acts will "shut down" an area?

As increasingly the case in recent years, which acts announced so far do you reckon will likely close stage areas due to full capacity?

they didnt even do that in 2009 so im not convinced 16 years later they'll manage it.  Though back then they were up against blur, and now they're up against olivia rodrigo.  Still.  I dont think it will be "Shut down"

Yeah. Very little chance Prodigy get close.

 

Realistically - it's something that happens more in the afternoon or early evening than at headliner time. And we won't really know the contenders until the full schedule is published so we can see who has what slot, and what the competition is.

and prodigy is also late sunday so I presume some may well have left , or maybe that was the SZA effect

i think the Sunday night is gonna be the toughest clash - So I dont think anyone will get an oversized crowd -  Prodigy competing with Olivia Rodrigo, Maccabees, Big Moon before we even know who the Woodsies and Park headliners are so I think it will be fine.

Doubt it'll cause a shutdown per se, but if the timing assumptions are correct then I reckon Rhythm of the 90s in Croissant Neuf on Sunday night will be absolutely heaving.  Post-Sunday headliner and we've no longer got yer Guilty Pleasures / Club de Fromage / Button Down Disco type events in Williams Green for people seeking a nonsense party fix.

That was the SZA affect and being an absolute dosser year for headliners across the main stages.

Avalon on Friday night with Ash and The Fratellis is definitely possible. I barely see any mention of Loyle Carner anywhere and it's fair to say The 1975 are divisive. Expecting a lot of old indie kids to head there to relive their youth a bit.

Am I right in saying we don't know Big Moon are headlining Avalon ... even though it's a sensible guess?

Hard to pick one out as it stands other than Fratellis Friday Avalon as pointed out above. I can maybe see Kneecap getting a massively oversized crowd though depending on who they clash with.

I think Doechi and Charlie XCX on the same night will split the crowd nicely.

En Vogue and Doecchi reckon could come close. Maybe Gary Numan as a random one! Think Prodigy will be OK for a few reason including Overmono annoyingly playing at the same time.

I was thinking that as well. All depends, like others, on clashes and timing. Charli XCX and Prodigy are a given, bound to be busy. And despite what many think, Mumfords if it’s Woodsies will be popular.

Agree with these.  Avalon has a few contenders for at least not being able to get near the tent, i'd add Hard-Fi.  Maybe even The Horne Section and Terrorvision.  Sam Ryder could completely shut down the area i think (still enough kitch factor from Eurovision).

If Self-Esteem is on at the Park as guessed on Clashfinder, that would be another.

Amelie Lens on Lonely Hearts Club is the only one that jumps out to me so far. Obviously Park and SIlver Hayes will be rammed for all of Thursday but that's the standard now.
