  1. IMO giving first timers a tour is one of the best activities you can do at Glastonbury! Some of the reactions I've seen come as close to someone literally having their jaw on the floor as I think you get in life!
  2. Me and my mates are all v happy with the lineup this year (a lot more names for us than on the 1st poster last year), but still feel a bit flat on it generally. Hopefully once the sun comes out it will seem like more of a reality - In exactly 3 months, most of us will be enjoying our first wander around! 🤩
  3. Yeah I totally support their decision making and think the fact that we got anything new since Covid is great, I'm just more trying to rationalise why it is that I'm not as hyped about it as previous years. That said, I'm sure once the individual areas start announcing their line ups (and more importantly for me) their plans aside from the music, I think there could be a lot of things to be very excited about! Yeah unlike a lot on here I was actually a fan of Carhenge, and it served as a fantastic meeting place. I'd be happy to learn that they're developing it into more of a music venue (but I know the common consensus is get rid of it and bring back WG).
  4. Yeah Silver Hayes has definitely improved a lot although I wouldn't say it's anything that mindblowing. Lonely Hearts club was a really nice addition but already been around at LSTD, The levels is really cool but I looks like a bit like a budget Boomtown stage, which is fine except Glastonbury had previously been such a pioneer in stage design. I think for me what is missing these days are the ravey theatrical shows -e.g. Arcadia 2010/landing/metamorphosis or Joe Rush shows - that really was some of the best stuff I've ever seen and I was always so excited to see what they were going to do next year. I may be wrong be it seems like that stuff has completely disappeared (I know T&Cs is full of different shows but they're pretty different!)
  5. Maybe the festival itself is starting grow a bit stale? As much as I love it, it maybe is overdue for a radical change of some sort as anyone who has been before knows around 90% of what to expect. Around 2010 was an exciting time when all the late night areas were really pushing boundaries year on year, 2019 had some big changes e.g. the crane, iicon, Samula. Since then nothing that exciting has happened.
  6. Possibly something BBC studio related
  7. It's by far the best night to go there. Still obviously pretty busy but way more bearable than the other nights.

    Faithless

Although Keith was the face of the Prodigy, I don't think musically the act has changed much with him not being around as the Prodigy is basically Liam Howlett, and Keith didn't sing on many tracks. I also think the fact that Sister Bliss has been touring solo as Faithless (DJ) for years now makes it seem less unworkable to do it without Maxi; but I do agree playing live without him would be weird and hopefully she has a tasteful solution up her sleeve.

    Burna Boy

Yes it will be one hell of a party (assuming the sun is shining!). Despite not knowing who he was, his Other Stage set was a big highlight of 2022. Great vibes music that you can sing along to even if you've never heard it before, and loads of colorful dancers on stage 👌
  10. He was so good headlining 2003. Nowadays the Pyramid is criminally underused as a dance music venue.

Based on how horrendously busy and potentially unsafe Thursday was last year, I can only assume they would do this if there are some other significant offerings on to split the crowds. I heard Williams Green and other stages were cut last year due to the predicted energy costs (which I don't think ended up being as bad as expected) - so hopefully they will add some back this year.
  12. They're also at a point in terms of popularity where they're playing on smaller stages, who probably struggle to justify giving out 13 tickets for a 1 hour slot at 4am. I think it would be different if they were having to scrape together tickets to play on, say, the Other Stage (and essentially marketing the event via BBC highlights). The whole thing screams of him/them thinking they're a lot bigger than they are, and makes it embarrassing in future if they do want to play but have taken this stance. Play or don't play, but I don't think them not being there is going to significantly impact anyone's weekend (aside from their own).

This is obviously very true as well (100% true in the daytime), but you do get certain moments at the pyramid that are incredibly special

    2024 Headliners

Yeah fair it's probably the right answer. I just quite like to see at least one pyramid headliner and Coldplay is a big No, and the 3rd headliner seems like it could be absolutely anybody (although SZA would be a goodun).
