How was she up for it?

She did an interview recently that went something like:

"What would it take you to do Glastonbury?"

"Not much."

"Just a phonecall?"

"Yeah probably."

That of course doesn't mean she was "up for it" this year as there's plenty more to consider, but it does indicate she could be up for it.

Thanks. I’m not a fan at all but 100% certain they’d jump at booking her if she was up for it, happy with the money and they hadn’t already booked the headliners. She’d be a great booking but I’m not sure she was in the frame this year for them to miss.

It's always a yes until the price comes along.

Quite. ‘I’d love to do it’ is very different from what it would take for an artist to do it. Lesser festivals have the money to throw at her because their ground-level experience generates that money at the expense of a good time.

Sound quality is fine, not sure what you’re talking about there.

Yeah, they only issue is when the wind comes especially on the other stage but that's going to be a problem anywhere. Doesn't matter what quality speakers you have, they aren't wind proof.

What I will say it she earns the money from her events to take the hit. I expect they might not even have know she was going to be about when they made the decision but I've also said I think the fallow is in place for Oasis to eventually do it. The only festival gaga is doing over own dates next year is if BST chuck a shed load over, but I 100% am expecting a mix of own and festival dates early summer next year.

I have a feeling she's nailed on for 2027.  No facts behind that, just speculating.

Haven’t watched it all yet but looked tremendous. Why however did she sing Shallow with her back to the crowd? Almost as if the performance was for the telly rather than the audience.

I think she was on the B stage with crowd all around at that point?

Question - does Gaga repeat the same set next Friday at weekend two?  And is it televised too? Can’t wait to see it again.. it’s all I’ve been thinking about 😂

So week 2 wasn’t as polished as week 1… her headset mic cut out as abracadabra started so no vocal, til someone gave her a hand held.

She stumbled at one point and the camera direction seemed really off.. they missed some of the great shots they’d got first week.

Still an impressive performance regardless.  Really desperate to get tickets for the Mayhem ball now.. just missed out on a single seat that popped up for Manchester yesterday.. gotta be quick!

Thought she/the set looked fantastic but it was very much for the camera rather than the crowd. For the best really, since the crowd looks practically static. Where were the dancers in the audience?!

Yes, but you werent there so thats just your opinion. Camera only shows what they dictate. If youre not on those fields who are you to judge what people are and arent doing. Glasto crowds would look like the most boring crowds if they didnt have flags ya know. It was freezing too so dancing helped.

You are way too defensive of coachella man! You don't own the festival, you attend it just like a lot of people attend their own countries festivals. Firstly, you can see from footage of the crowd whether they are into it, and secondly, there are plenty of people that attend gigs and admit the crowd was a bit tame. You're on a non stop defensive comparison train.

Maybe you need to stop making effort to travel over for Glastonbury given you compare everything to Coachella and how everything won't live up to standard. If the flags are a problem, the atmosphere is better and there are acts there that won't perform as well then why bother spending the money on a flight and accommodation to make it happen.

In fairness, we’d probably get a bit defensive if somebody was critical of Glastonbury when we have a soft spot for it.

Maybe the crowd were more alive in person, but it didn’t come across that way. Gaga deserved better.

Oh, and l’d rather have flags than thousands of people filming it with their phones.

I'd rather not have phones or flags.

I'm not sure we would, there are plenty of us that have critiqued artists bookings, positions etc over the years with Avril being a prime example. Example himself being put on the Glade to shoulder to shoulder where you can't move in Shangri-la. Skindred for example being crowd in that area. Baggy Mondays crowds and getting in has been another hold up of conversation for example. Certainly clashes that are just like, why would you do that?, Olivia and The Prodigy this year has seen a lot of the same fans. To go and enjoy an event does not mean everything will be perfect and there won't be obstacles or issues. This is what people are saying about events we've been to. I've seen Glastonbury crowds as well just stand there watching gigs but it doesn't offend me for someone to say that. It's a bit of a bitter and strange comparison for someone spending a lot of money to attend the inferior option. Having been to both, the extra costs for everything now over there compared to when I went would automatically stop my attendance, not that I ever planned to revisit.

I saw Jimmy Eat World gets some good crowds but you won't suddenly see their crowds moving from cameras and not others. I went when it was about 36/37 degrees so being a bit colder even in the 26s would be a welcome relief for dancing.
