Feel like they were in a prime position to do it this year or last year and didn't.

I would suspect they might be more of a shout for 2028 than '27 and suspect they might be using 2026 for resting/side-projects and 2027 for the next LP.

Yeah i mean they openly said they are going to be away from the UK for a while at Download.

As one of the indie/rock/punk Oasis attending fans I can assure you I would not be secretly pleased to see Madonna in any way shape or form. That being said I'd love her to headline, get as many people over there as possible and let me enjoy a nice night elsewhere.

My finger in the sky prediction is still Green Day, the nostalgia has been doing so well and Billy Joe has spoken about wanting to do it previously. They've been rumoured for years, to the point of it almost seeming like an ongoing gag. They're based out of London most of the year now.

Said it many times before, Glasto have seriously missed a trick never having these guys play the Pyramid. It would be astounding and even those who are unsure on them or not arsed, would have the time of their lives. Has to happen.

To be fair every now and again they absolutely knock it out the park on the acts they book - obviously it was cancelled but in 2020 they would have had Kendrick Lamar, Paul McCartney  & Taylor Swift - basically 3 of the biggest acts on the planet so its not beyond them booking 3 mega sized acts.

Fair point. I'd be very surprised if they had the opportunity to show 3 headliners of that calibre again. Very, very rare and probably not practical/realistic.

Was thinking of their potential setlist and oh my word:

  1. American Idiot
  2. Holiday
  3. Know Your Enemy
  4. Boulevard of Broken Dreams
  5. One Eyed Bastard
  6. Longview
  7. Welcome to Paradise
  8. Hitchin' a Ride
  9. Brain Stew
  10. St. Jimmy
  11. Dilemma
  12. 21 Guns
  13. Minority
  14. Basket Case
  15. When I Come Around
  16. Wake Me Up When September Ends
  17. Jesus of Suburbia
  18. Bobby Sox
  19. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

Chuck in Last Night on Earth or Warning in there somewhere and it would be outstanding! Hopefully they'll be on the farm next time they have UK plans!

I can take or leave them but yeah I reckon it'd be a lot of fun

Tbf Taylor and Macca would be huge and we had tickets. I could have many option's over Kenny but I get he's a big act. I think out of the last few years Coldplay, Macca and Swift would have been the ultimate unbeatable 3 based on size, stature and what they can sell. Given the performance and show, Dua Lipa, Macca and Taylor also would have been top.

I left Elton out to avoid two heritage acts being booked so to get the biggest but balance. I wouldn't have taken Elton over either of them tbh. I'd already seen him at Watford and only saw him at Glastonbury because you gotta.

Agreed.

Biggest band on planet right now.

Biggest living artist ever.

Biggest artist in planet right now.

Shut the suitcase, proceed to boarding.

New Taylor album coming in October

Difficult to get a read on this one. On paper, she’s far too big for festivals, even the biggest ones. But she has history and it’s probably too early to embark on another global tour just yet. Would she pay her dues in the meantime?

shipping does not mean release date. theres gonna be a billion variants. october 13th is a monday. so she can be doing some trickery to just get a bump on the charts that week with this.  youll maybe find out tomorrow what the details are. max martin is producing it though.

nobody is too big if they sign on the dotted line. right now the baseline on anything was that she isnt at coachella next year, and its most likely 2027 for her with a tour revolving around that. so glasto and coach can get her. or taylor is signed for glasto 2028 and thats what emily was hinting at. so taylor keeps quiet and is just preparing whatever shows and touring for 2027 and then goes 2027 through 2028. its not like there wont be rumblings about her being booked way far in advance as it is. so youll know by next fall by t day if she is in the frame for 2027 anyway.

The Gallaghers and oasis who have both played glasto and Taylor who was signed up in 2020? Why do people act like it’s impossible? Perhaps not on the same year but they could both easily do it.

Taylor's 2020 size (who probably signed up in 2019) was leagues smaller than her current size.

Sure, if the Gallaghers and Swift magically don't care about money anymore.

It'll be more if they see the point of doing it. Oasis right now are in a period where they couldn't fail to have a more memorable set than 2004. While Taylor is set for life so it's a case of if she'd still want it. The Taylor effect is that after doing Glastonbury, there is a lot of people that ticks off as most of her tickets are purchased by parents as well of younger kids who aren't allowed to go on their own.

Oasis will chase the money. I don't see that happening at all.

i think if they had wanted to play this year then they wouldve just  done it. like out right saying '' we are not playing glastonbury or other festivals this year'' means they had a stack of offers and know theyll be there if they choose to say yes. both brothers understand they would take a lesser rate for it and are prob gonna be fine in 2027 after theyve finished a run this year and next. i think the smartest move will be if theyre booked for 2027 that you have T day and a couple weeks later they drop their name first. then everyone who has a ticket is gonna feel good. and then you can announce like BST or whatever around it and thatll meet whatever other demand there is. then you better try to have some counter programming that can hopefully keep them from shutting down the pyramid field by 8pm. i think if they were there instead of Neil Young on Saturday night you obviously have the biggest crowd of the weekend but  charli against them still has some pull.

    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
