The Rolling Stones have seemingly announced a new album for July. If they tour Europe next summer, do we think they could be tempted to return to the farm?

I very much doubt it, Stones feel like a one and done special occasion. Can't see the fest paying out for them, and as they've done it once before and ticked that box I don't see them doing it for a lower fee.

I could see a few of my lot wanting to see Harry Styles.

Id almost definitely be elsewhere unless it was slim pickings on other stages. Or if for whatever reason we'd not spent much time together as a group. We're all happy to go off and do our own thing but at the same time it is nice to all get together, especially for a big headliner

100% this.  It's great going off and doing your own thing, but it's equally joyous to share moments with your mates

Plus they were due to tour this year and scrapped it cos Keith didn't want to go out on the road for an extended period.

It's very plausible that'll be a barrier going forward. Maybe they'll just do one-off shows here and there rather than a full-on 30+ date tour.

Is there a legit reason to think it’s Harry other than he’s rumoured to be touring next year and he’s said he’d like to do it? Not saying it’s not him, but the confidence of some aren’t supported by anything concrete yet.

I suspect it's just what you've mentioned + a lack of any real headliner info, thus far.

I think there is also Nick Grimshaw's comments that he knows someone who's booked, apparently they're good friends but that feels a bit of a stretch.

13 months to go. Loads of time for us to get something along the way.

Someone on the Reddit was claiming Olivia Dean as Grimshaw's hint but that could just be reaching.

Wouldn't surprise me, re Olivia Dean. She really has blown up.

I still feel like these Oasis dates will get the ball rolling, whether it's them or not.

The more I think about it the more I think we’ll only get 1 of Foos, Oasis or Styles. Just massive acts and think they’ll go cheaper on the other two. I think Olivia Dean makes sense as one of the 3 given how massive she’s gotten. Fontaines would be a cool bump up. Then again we could easily see the likes of Fred Again, Fender, Capaldi, Chappell, Sabrina doing it too.

I can't remember why I think this - but did we have something in a previous year that suggested Nick Grimshaw is a bit of a bullshitter?

Or am I just assuming that based on his radio persona?

He should be pretty well placed to get info, but I think he said some stuff on previous podcasts that was way out, nothing outlandish and just talking like your average man in the street but from the point of view of the obsessives on here, clearly wrong. Maybe that made him sound like a bit of a bullshitter but he was probably just guessing.

    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
    • But I think the point of that Dan Needle tax thing...we need to put up income tax, for all incomes (and thresholds should be unfrozen).
    • There are no easy answers...more than anything we need growth...and probably main ways of getting that is borrowing more to invest in stuff that makes us super sexy, and/or cut taxes on business and wealth generation which would mean less money to spend on public services and welfare and would obviously be super unpopular and get you chucked out of govt. On top of all that got an aging population, a growing welfare bill, a call for higher spending on defence, housing inequality, higher borrowing costs, and probably a load more sh*t on the way due to the Iran war (although so far it hasn't been that bad?)
    • A couple of OR's crew and band have posted Barcelona pics.   HYYPPPEEEEE
