I remember when some of the false Oasis Europe rumours were doing the rounds.

I booked a few hotels, on the off chance. Within 10 minutes of booking Madrid, I was informed it was false cause Bad Bunny was already playing the same stadium that date.

Turned out he was doing 10 (TEN) nights at Atletico Madrid. Insane

Aye think it's a record for that venue (admittedly one that's only been open ten years). I know Spanish speaking so likely to help with the demand, but it's still pretty remarkable to see.

Most tickets sold for what's defined as a Latin American act in UK history with the 2 shows in London, plus sold out shows in Sweden, France and Italy. Even if he never gets offered Glastonbury, can make the case he's probably found a niche and is happy enough to pursue it.

Since 2022, 3/4 Glasto’s have had a female headliner and ever since Emily said about the diversity of having female acts there’s no doubt atleast 1 will be a female solo artist most years moving forward.

Chappell Roan/Raye come to mind.

Just back on the female idea, watched Raye in Stockholm on the weekend and she is perfect for it and probably would be cheap.

Pink is exactly the 'doesn't match the vibes' type. Although Pinkpantheress (whilst not a headliner) feels very appropriate

Nah. She'd be very well received. Definitely a viable option if she was willing to do it.

The fest clearly want her to do it in the future but the sub slot in 2025 probs means she's less likely to headline in 2027. It all depends who is available though and who is filling the other slots.

Look at the crowd Avril Lavigne drew.  Pink would slay it as a pyramid sub or Other stage headliner.

Kind of think with Pink.   It must have come up at some point -  Im sure theres 1 or 2 fests where she has been in the country gigging when Glastonbury is on.   Wikipedia tells me she's been doing music now for 30 years you would think there has been a conversation at some point - which makes me suspect that its been a non starter -  I guess never say never though

I will add though (as an absolutely wild shout).  should they miss her booking for another 10 or 15 years  -  She could well become a prime booking for a legend slot

Don't think it's too wild a shout.

Think she'd be a better fit for the legend than anything else (in a few years).

Pink played like 14 or 15 stadium shows last time she played here.  She's not appearing anywhere other than the top of the bill.

I'm talking 20 years down the line.

Raye needs another successful album, imo. Just given her placement last year.

P!nk feels like she’s become trapped between opportunities, to me. Supremely talented, but a genre that can’t command the top tier without huge momentum which despite her undeniable success she doesn’t have right now.

She needs another album full stop. She subbed off the current one.

Thankfully she has an album coming next month!

Pink would have to headline but I think getting her years down the line so she can be a legend act is just a missed opportunity. She might not be doing the theatrics which make her show by then.

Olivia Dean, Harry Styles, Fontaines DC

Legend Stevie Nicks.

If i were betting money this is where I'm currently at

That would be very underwhelming personally but that doesn't mean they can't do it. I'd be very surprised if it was that 3 though, I think Robbie will be the Legend, Stevie has had enough opportunity now to take it and the lower fee if she wanted to.

Potentially.

I still think a lot hinges on Oasis, and whether that can happen. I did see somewhere the other day that as part of this 2027 tour that will be announced, it's 'every weekend and midweek in June at the Etihad'. That's a lot, but 10 was floated around. Dunno if there's any truth in it, though.

If Oasis aren't doing it/are more of a 2028 thing, then what you've said there could well happen.

Harry Styles & Fontaines make sense for a number of reasons. Olivia Dean is one that's passed me by so far but, going off my Instagram feed - she's big right now.

Stormzy went from Other Sub in 2017 to post fallow year headliner in 2019. Raye feels   like the very obvious act Emily booked early for 2027. They obviously  dont care  if somebody was just there at the fest. Theyre still trying to take the handful of homegrown acts and elevate when possible. And theres nothing that says she wont have more new material for 27 either. Thats what a victory lap is for.

    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
    • Dream Blink day    Blink - Turnstile - Neck Deep - The Story So Far
    • The vibe for Avalanches was spectacular, but i totally understand not wanting to wait in a queue for however long it was.   I had to miss Ethel Cain to queue. Bit annoying, but I had never seen the Avalanches before (either live or DJ set) and it was every bit as joyful as I hoped.   Great little stage, either way.
    • The Smashing Pumpkins are also a shout
