Ken was incorrect more often than he was correct the last couple of months though. He'll definitely know something inside-y now and then (I'm guessing he receives press letters and so on), but he doesn't really feel like a very 'close to the fire' person. That 'artists postponing a year because of the wildfires' bit feels very bullocks.

He's been right with a lot of stuff previously that it's worth taking note of at least in a small possibility. I haven't seen him mentioned anything that hasn't been correct.

Didn't he claim that London Grammar would headline Down The Rabbit Hole quite recently?

Yes and that clearly didn't happen.

Probably next week. The Grammys are this weekend. Its an easy play to announce a tour right after you win or have a commercial during the broadcast. If Beyonce was gonna cancel or postpone all of this I think she would have enough sense to say something at this point. And I dont think anyone would have a problem if the tour sales were for next year either.

Didn't Beyonce's mom's house burn down? That could have an effect on things.

Aye. Unlikely it'd be a tour proper, but St Vincent looks like they've got the chops to do Nirvana justice.

If I'm not mistaken, she'd sung with the surviving Nirvana members before and has done a few times. Think there was one gig where she & Beck shared singing duties.

Yeah that's what I'd heard. Which unquestionably is being directly affected by what went on there and wanting to take time to take stock on things. Though the way Beyonce phrased the announcement postponement hinted it was just postponing that rather than all 2025 tour plans.

At least for now. Guess we're not privvy to what discussions she and her people may or may not have had on this matter.

I did not. Said it then - though not on here.

The question, of course, is just what a tour would even look like. You'd assume it wouldn't be a massive run if it ever happened.

I feel certain when I say it'll never happen and they'll keep it for special occasions and one-offs.

We had any info on Park toppers?

Could St Vincent be one of these, or perhaps for Woodsies? She's in Europe this summer, has no UK dates lined up, and we assume is more likely to be in a smaller area than the optimistic booking of Other Stage sub on the Daddy's Home campaign

Only big name I can think of to definitively delay things for now was Beyonce. Dunno if there's any talk of when she might pipe up with the original plan to announce in mid-January.

Just days away now

It's not impossible, but if I was booking I would be cautious given her showing last time. She's the opposite of a proven draw.

I like her - I saw at the Albert Hall in June and thought she was great. But it is noteworthy that show was not sold out and as noted, her last booking on Worthy Farm was in a higher position than she was probably big enough for. Hence maybe Park or Woodsies would be more of a shout imo.

It did but its a process and it doesnt involve Beyonce per say. Call up the insurance company, go through all that and wait it on when they finally get to your case. My dad had a part of the roof of my childhood home come off during the winds and he is still dealing with the insurance company's bullshit right now. So for something like Beyonce's moms mansion its a whole other level. But again. does she need to be directly involved, not really. What is a factor is likely her team. Lots of stuff stopped here because agents and managers lost their homes and they gotta address it right now. but its slowly getting back to form while its being dealt with. Like some local stuff here got delayed in announcing simply due to the social media manager of a promoter losing their home and not being able to do stuff.

I literally said the damn Grammys are tomorrow and its the easiest way to do promo after you win some trophies and such. Does nobody understand marketing these days or what.

Tbf I wasn't sure if they were this weekend or next weekend. Though would be insane to have had it against the Superbowl given that's where all the eyeballs will be.

Acts have said "Hey, I've got a new album/tour" during their Grammy acceptance speeches before, right?

+1

Big fan of her, super talented. It’s a shame that Other crowd wasn’t big enough, or invested enough. I’ve seen her in much much better environments like Primavera or her own shows.

Hope she’s around the farm this year and in a more appropriate slot / crowd.

    • Hush cancelled with a similar event now taking place at EartH and Cate Le Bon doing her own show, maybe others have rearranged gigs?
    • Yeah I find it strange, if they were just a silly act then they wouldn't be headlining the 3rd stage. The likes of vengaboys yes but they aren't doing their own sizeable arena dates.  That looks very weak for what they could actually get, but GC aren't playing 3rd main stage with The 02 and the Coop arena and in a same slot that KSE are. MIW aren't carrying those two dates either, neither are Turnstile and Parkway Drive tickets didn't play out. You gotta do better than Ghost, Blink and Deftones though.    I think you are a bit even if that is not the intention. I'm genuinely shocked they booked them for the avalanche and I think it'll be rammed out of the tent. While ADTR will obviously get a lot too, many Download attendees will had the chance to see them at Slam Dunk. I think 90s fest getting Scooter was class and while there would have been some Download crossover, the Slam Dunk crossover given acts you get on the avalanche will be a different level.
