The saddest performance I’ve seen at Glastonbury.  Had no idea what he was doing bless him

i was at the barricade so I was really right there watching it go down. And then Johnny Depp walks out and is playing a guitar which had zero volume to it because he is Johnny Depp.

I was tripping balls on acid and mdma combo so I couldn't honestly tell you what it was like without any real grasp of what reality was.

Ed sheeran to be fair absolutely killed it, heard enough then had to go find something else

I was at Kano and that he was excellent on Park to close it out. Shaggy was the last proper act I saw that weekend a few hours later on the Sunday. Great weekend especially being my first time. Shame I had to sacrifice Dua and Liam Gallagher for Radiohead. But Ill live.

Oh I finished up at Justice with the whole group and that was excellent

2017 prob an underrated all timer for modern ones I figure. Yes, it had fantastic weather. Dont forget they filmed A Star is Born before Kris Kristofferson. Sure in hindsight I shouldve gone to see Foos cause of Taylor passing, but its hard to have regrets over a band youve seen in literal dive bars for $10.

Huh. I watched A Star is Born but forgot they did stuff at Glastonbury. I remember hearing they were at Coachella too.

Coachella had performances. Glasto had footage they used in the touring montage. There was a flyover of the crowd plus Bradley performing and they did a steadi cam around him. Its there, tou can see the Pyramid field.

Well, I remember liking the film. Sounds like an excuse to rewatch it.

I still don’t think it’ll be Fender / 1975 / O Rod

Can see

O Rod

Fender / 1975

Muse / Stevie Wonder

Selfishly I’d love Fender / O Rod / Muse

I think out of that you're closest is 1975, Muse, O-Rod.

Youre not gonna get post malone in some capacity 🤦🏻‍♂️

Don't want him although I guess you do without a ticket.

Welp. Nice having a ticket to Glasto so I got a diff trio to look at. Posty, Fred, Gaga and Green Day if it all holds.  At least room for a shocker in there.

Why would you book Stray Kids anyway. Absolute shite that couldn't sell BST out.

Bigger draw here for sure. More Lolla secondary headliner though.  Theres some other K pop acts to be had anyway. Coachella has Lisa from Blackpink who is releasing a solo album in Feb booked already. I figure they might have to go overboard when BTS returns next summer though if they book a K Pop headliner again

are we sleeping on Charlie XCX or we think she’s headed to the Other?

I personally think Charli is booked as Pyramid sub/Other headline, and will step up to headline if someone falls through. She's got UK shows the week before Glasto so if 100% in the frame imo.

If I were Emily Eavis, I'd book her to headline the Friday. Strike whilst the iron is hot. The likes of Olivia, Fender, 1975 don't look as though they'll decline in popularity any time soon. I can't say I'd say the same for Charli, though I hope she just gets bigger because her career speaks for itself.

I’m with you here

For a start she has to headline, none of this subbing nonsense and if anyone involved has got any guts it should be The Pyramid.

I love her but not really these days. Joker bombed and her ‘comeback’ single went absolutely nowhere either.

It would still be a Glastonbury headliner set for the ages.

I'd cry the all the water out of my body if she was announced.

Yes unfortunately that is one of the most likely options with Fender being the weakest accuracy of them.

Fred, Gaga and Post is the second one I've heard.

Fred has supposedly pulled out due to burn out and going to be taking a break. Hes been everywhere the past few years!

She’s more monthly listeners than Tame Impala. Catching up on OR. Nearly 8x the monthly listeners than Sam Fender.

Way too big now for the other stage.

SHe's definitely bigger world wide but I'm not sure about the UK

Yes I have heard. Could be where Gaga has got been asked to jump in. A month back Fred was still apparently in the 3.

That was neither factually, nor grammatically correct. Well done.

Actually everything in the sentence was grammatically correct. It would be impressively worse. So I'll take the well done haha. And I'll leave that there as I don't need to comment anymore on Mr Nick Cave. Nowt against him but not for me.

That Fred burnout line is interesting. Is that new info? I had 'he's a no go' a few weeks back, which I just (probably wrongly) presumed could be due to him finally playing some big UK gigs, but the burnout thing probably stacks up.

If we're talking someone 'stepping in', if he was indeed a planned headliner, I imagine that is the 1975.

    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
