Can't see them legging Charli XCX up to headline this time around unless all of Fred again, Sam Fender and The 1975 have turned it down. Know it is another female headliner in a pool where the festival are determined to do better, but she's a very strong sub or Other bill-topper to me as it stands.

But Biffy Clyro would be excellent counter-booking if she did headline.

Yeah that's a fair read. I'm mostly going off places like Primavera/Pinkpop. She's got a pretty hefty discography, history with the festival and she is one of the most talked about artists this year. Add to that she's British and female, and it seems like a pretty safeish bet to me.

Maybe I'm a bit naive to Fred, because while I'm aware of him being 'massive', I only know one song and in my mind he doesn't have enough heft behind his popularity, if that makes sense.

1975 are inevitable, at some stage.

¿No se portaron bien en los Grammy hace unos meses? ¿O ha sucedido algo desde entonces?

Olivia has apparently said again that she was hurt by the credit issue with Deja Vu. On top of that, Sabrina was the opening act on the Eras tour and some of the Grudge lyrics are said to be dedicated to Taylor. It doesn't sound like they're close.

360 is among my tunes of the year so far. Just bubblegum gone dirty.

I will say that a lot of the hype for CXCX seems to be her qualities as a lyricist. I think it's more hit-and-miss there - she's very postmodern, in that The 1975 way, but it also can leave it feeling pretty faux-arch to a point.

And an exquisite production! The thing about Charli is that she has always been considered a headliner by the public rather than the industry. The critical acclaim came after Brat.

Last year she presented Brat for the first time at Primavera and it was one of those concerts that you keep remembering over the years. The stage on which it was scheduled was too small, perhaps that's why she's the headliner for 2025. At this point she is going to be registered in Barcelona lmao

I'd love to see her as a sub at Glasto.

Is it me or does Taylor Swift fall out with people quite a lot? I am aware that the size of her public platform puts her under immense scrutiny and strain, but she does appear to be prone to this.

Acting as a ruthless businesswoman with a perpetual victim narrative will do that.

Brat has definitely turned Charli XCX from being a Woodsies headliner size act in 2022 to an Other stage headliner or Pyramid sub

Hopefully she's there next year as the former as can see a Brat heavy set in the dark being a fantastic party

Absolutely get that read too. I think it's a logical read - massive album, hefty back catalogue as you say, and has cut her teeth on this site. I don't think she's a bad shout at all to play.

My concern comes down to her live pulling power right now. The arena tour is sold out, but it didn't shift until the album really took off. I'm finding it tough to gauge her complete currency in the landscape of who else we have - ergo, I'm leaning towards her being that very strong Pyramid sub or Other headline.

With you, to be fair. I still don't quite get Fred again..'s seismic draw, but despite a lack of out-and-out chart smashes - the factor that usually helps sway pop picks - or albums - the factor that usually helps sway rock shouts - his live draw appears to be astronomical right now. Sunset the other year on the Other stage, if anything, is now an essential part of his story.

And I'd like to think so, but have this disarming sense they could miss the boat if not this time around too.

fred came at the right time during covid that it just connected with a lot of young listeners. He always wanted fan involvement and community so it hit. That, and he had some cool tracks which werent the typical edm. Then the Boiler Room set hit and he took off even more because people wanted that from him. The Skrillex and Four Tet connections really solidified him because they gave him a diff level of cred. The coachella performance with skrilliex and fred was a huge deal cause they had been doing their pop up guerilla shows and selling 10,000 tickets in minutes to 4 hr dj sets. Now it was big stage and everyone could see it. I mean I wasnt wrong when I said it a couple years ago that he likely was gonna headline glasto. Cause it seemed it was ready to go and then he backed off. It was just gonna be the right mixture of dance and live performing which would work since theres nobody else glasto could bother with to book on the pyramid that was dance centric.

and zero thoughts about the environment. But she has a cult which will defend everything. I mean it wasnt clear enough when her mother was threatening the british government with cancelling the london shows if taylor didnt get the royal guard protection motorcade for those gigs? She is neither british nor royal. It just happened in toronto too and people are upset their tax dollars are funding this bullshit. The teror plot gave her another victim card to pull, cause she is now a political target despite not giving one sh*t about how the election turned out. She is easily happy that 47 won due to her taxes being lowered in the future lol

I am leaving the confines of the box and fitting 2 years worth into one like Emily suggests she wants to.

An as yet unmentioned act of Friday
Olivia on Saturday
Plans for Stevie on Sunday
Sam Fender in a secret TBA pyramid slot in Churnups style
Cher or Annie Lennox as Legend
Secret Woodies set from The 1975
Fred Again DJ Set on The Levels

Interesting, but my question is what caveat both Fender and The 1975 would have to play those secret slots, alas. Guarantee of a future headline slot in 2027 after the fallow?

If both had previously headlined, then absolutely. Not sure we've ever had a major secret set from an act who theoretically could headline the Pyramid but have not done so already. (See: Pulp, Radiohead, The Killers.)

Others tend to be those who will likely never headline the Pyramid. (See: Elbow, Foals, Jack White, George Ezra.)

But as this is all speculation, I do very much appreciate stepping outside of the box. More of this!

George Ezra could absolutely have headlined in 2022 after the crowds he pulled in 2015 and 2019. Could still do it in the future too, if he comes back with another Paradise/Shotgun/Budapest-level banger. Wouldn’t be a total shock if he ended up in the frame for 2025, even, if he announced an album in the next couple of months.

Charlie is 100% headliner material now after Brat. She has all the momentum at the moment. Probably the most talked about female artist at the moment, no?

Who realistically do you put up against her if she headlined Other?

Her partner
