I was the opposite. I usually find her voice really Whitney but I thought it had a nice folky quality on the Cure songs.

To be fair, she absolutely let Robert have the limelight with his own songs. It just felt noticible to me how much of a good live singer, Robert Smith actually is.

I wouldn't say she was bad - just thought it was odd how Robert was belting the lyrics with no real effort and she was doing softer and very much out of tune accompanyments.

Looked very good on the telly, but the crowd didn't seem as into it as I'd expect apart from the odd tune.

Glad to read that isnt the case.

Stood on the hill so had a decent view of the crowd, I was actually very surprised how lively it was, specifically in the front pit, shoulders, flares the lot!

1 tune early on it looked bonkers, but after that it didnt really. (Deja vu did tbf)

The telly seemingly didnt do the crowd justice.

We were fairly near the front but it was pretty manic as far as we could seeIMG_1086.thumb.jpeg.cd8ee9e4f7d307dcfa248f7feee629be.jpeg

I had a bit of a heavy weekend, so I was a chair w*nker on the hill for Olivia's set. I never expected to be blown away or anything, as I'm definitely not the demographic for her music.

I came away thinking it was okay, but I don't regret going to see her. I definitely think it was one where she was never going to win over a great deal of new fans, but she put on a good show for people who were already fans (from where I was sat, it looked like there were LOADS)

I was a little underwhelmed that it seemed to be a fairly routine performance for her, rather than anything special for Glasto. Am I the only one that felt, Pulp aside, as though the festival lacked any real Glasto Moments™?

Are the days when artists craft their set specifically because it is Glastonbury gone?

I dont think Robert Smith turns up for anything other than Glastonbury. I think she / they did that for the festival specifically

Not sure about that, anecdotal evidence on a football forum of people watching is that she's more rocky/punk than they expected and were impressed by the performance.

I think a lot of casual observers would've been impressed by the band, the show and the production, the not-quite-as-poppy-as-assumed style, her seemingly "getting it" and wanting to be there rather than just phoning in another show on the tour, the choice of guest, the sight of people all ages loving it in the crowd, the lot.

    • It was never going to be great was it, there is comments of Mickey Mouse all over socials lol which is very similar to Glastonbury.  Someone I know from RIP watched Welcome to the Jungle and left and they went saying they've got to see GNR. It was the only day not to see out as well.
    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
