Olivia Rodrigo

The very best are saved in the last day of my first ever Glastonbury with the most stunning and dazzling sets (St. Vincent and Olivia Rodrigo) of the week/entire festival!

St. Vincent at Woodsies (#2 set, Silver winning performance on my first ever Glastonburympics

> then had a magical time walking thru at the Woodsies area, then head for that strategic spot at the Pyramid stage during Noah Kahan’s set with Belinda Carlisle as guest - as it was my only time to observe or watch behind or around those flag-waving fans at the Pyramid or fans holding flares or sitting at their friends shoulders 🙂 which I always dream when I see it on television or videos before - you can’t have any more dramatic or atmospheric fan experience than that - also because the target was to be as close as possible to the runaway ramp for my one and only experience of a main headliner’s performance (Olivia Rodrigo)

> Olivia Rodrigo’ gold medal performance of the entire festival as she spectacularly brought everything on pitch perfect tunes and beautiful live vocals singing and even rocking as along with her bands providing providing powerful and major riffs! - OR dished out all her essential tracks be it of pop, pop/rock, rock, alternative or singer-songwriter:indie etc or even new wave as she was joined by an iconic and legendary special guest, Robert Smith - they collaborated on 💯 stunning and utterly brilliant vocals & harmony for not one but 2 perfectly fitting for the occasion (as they were surround or being watched by a crowd from youngest music fans/kids through the oldest attendees at this year’s edition) The Cure songs.

Pure perfection as it was the cherry on top of my never would be forgotten major musical experience at my first Glastonbury.

Monday I am in love! All right, I have to do it and order the gold winning and my best of Glastonbury 2025 in music!

LIVE FROM GLASTONBURY (A BBC RECORDING) VINYL

it will have all songs performed in the show including the now iconic collaboration with Robert Smith.

Just listened to these and really enjoyed it.

One funny note though, the crowd at the start sounds like a room of about 100 people rather than the Pyramid stage. Always funny how the crowd gets mixed in these releases.

To be fair the crowd weren't massively vociferous when Bob walked out.  The penny dropped when Friday started up, but I think a lot of people were expecting someone a bit more like Ed Sheeran or something.

Yeah, you can even hear it with her giving the beans to get them gee'd up. The fact he's simply Bob Smith rather than Bob Smith from The Cure probably plays a part too.

Personally, it was a case of "Wait, did she say Robert Smith? Well of course he's not going to be here. What a mistake to make in front of 80,000 people. Wonder who it.. oh sh*t that's really Robert Smith. f**king hell this is awesome.".

Same, I was expecting Sheeran and has started to turn to go for a Pee and then had to do a double take. I gather it had leaked beforehand but I think to many it was a complete surprise.

As long as you didn’t leak beforehand when you curtailed your call of nature😊😉

    • Quite lucky as I’ve no interest in Halsey at all so I’ve got time for some food and drink before getting in there.   But yeah… thinking I’ll have to leave early to get a decent spot for Gorillaz

    • First thing I saw on socials today were people talking about Limp Bizkit spending most of their set dicking about, does not surprise me.
