Do people trust the lock ups for valuables?

Yeah, left wallets full of money in there and opened them in front of people who work there and never any issues. Very smooth operation and very trustworthy.

im going to use them this year to keep my cool bag in and pop back and reload during bands 🙂 they take virtually anything

Yes - it’s the best place to leave any valuables- car keys, cash, passport, spare phone, spare medication or trolley, cool box anything really - you will need to keep the ticket they give you to get your belongings back - take a photo of it!

Can anyone remember if you are allowed to collect something from the lock up that you didn't sign in, even if you have the ticket?  I seem to remember a signature being needed.....

eg would it be possible for Mrs P to deposit a bag, but I then use her ticket later to collect it?

I’d say not tbh … they do require a signature . Although maybe there’s some work around but that’s one of the secure features … my mates were able to get my stuff out with nothing but a photo one year when I’d left site in an ambulance but that required all kinds of other checks

Does anyone know if you can leave coolboxes in the lock ups? Probably could just leave in the tent right?

Yep, did this a few years back with an Igloo ice cold thingy. Grabbed a refill everytime we went past, still ice cold on the Sunday. Think the ambient temp in the lockup being lower than a small tent might have helped (better airflow?)

No - we'd need the person who left the item to pick it up.

Otherwise how would we know you hadn't just found the ticket on the floor somewhere?

Yep, that's what I thought but just wanted to check for our own logistical planning.

Thanks 👍

I wonder if an option of two people signing the same ticket is possible ?

And only one signature to sign out as long as they had the ticket ?

Sorry no - it we had dual signatories and different people who could collect, that would open up the possibility of disputes and other issues. It has to be one person signing and the same person who collects.

I have worked at the lock ups at the fest for the last 10 years and everything checked in has always been returned to it's owner successfully. It is a brilliant and pretty much fool proof system, and a great service.

Out of reactions but just wanted to say what a brilliant service all the lock ups provide. We use them many times during the festival.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
