I think for certain things, then yes until the investigation is done. In this case, multiple accusations of abuse publicly, then for sure. It would happen for most sports/entertainment.

That’s fair enough in a world where investigations can be done quickly. That doesn’t seem to happen in reality. Under your system people could just make up accusations on the day of a World Cup final and those players wouldn’t be allowed to play. I feel really uncomfortable moving to a presumption of guilt.

United suspending Antony, bit of a strange move before he's been charged.

Especially going by recent cases like Jack Diamond, Mendy and Partey. Not to mention those in France. P

Now utd might be ahead of the game(not with this administration), expecting charges this week. Or its entirely based on united tax, rather than the actual norm on these type of cases.

The question is would other clubs act different in the same situation or is it an issue with Man Utd. I lean towards other clubs putting their finances first.

I'd argue both. Some clubs might be providing a duty of care in how they treat/socialise/whatever term you want to use with the young players they have.

Partey was never named by the papers was he ( I know everyone knew anyway, but still)

Mendy was charged without it being leaked before wasn't it?

There isn't really a set way to do this. More than one woman coming out has probably made UTD more cautious, especially as Brazil gave suspended him

But Arsenal and City are/were aware of it don't you think?

How about the Diamond Case, who was still playing until a charge.

Now I understand totally united will always be the most high profile club in the country, the hype around united on these cases is not seem consistent with other teams. So for me anyone arrested should be suspended, or wait until charged. You can not really decide that if anything iffy at united suspend them, anyone else let them play on until a charge.

Lets be honest Partey would not be playing if he was a united player, not a chance.

I'm not sure it's a utd 'tax' per se. They publicly shat the bed with the Greenwood stuff, so probably being a little more pro-active since Anthony is happening so close to that.

pogba tested positive for doping, wonder if we'll get all the same guff as when rio tested positive.

Rio Ferdinand's ban when he tested positive in 2003 was 8 months. Under Italian anti-doping rules, Pogba could be in line for a minimum 2 year ban if this is proven, though he has 3 days to provide a new sample.

Rio didn't test positive did he?

I can say 110%, pogba did not use performance enhancing drugs at united.

We're all sure he didn't if he did it's alright with utd fans same as it was alright when Rio did it.

No he went shopping and missed his test. And then passed it later that day.

Bollocks you're right and that's a misinterpretation. Might want to delete it in retrospect. But maybe it's unwittingly passed into public record of thinking that's what went down.

after consulting a doctor to be sure he'd pass the test.

the extra wasted time helped him pass.

So, out with the person who has clearly not been running Everton well for the last few years, and potentially in with a Miami-based hedge fund who have annoyed the fans at every other club in their portfolio and who the official Miami Everton supporters group say they want absolutely nowhere near their club. Which bodes well.

Saw this thread on twitter a few days ago. Seems to suggest Moshiri did get his bank accounts frozen after the Ukraine invasion along with Usmanov being frozen out and its this or administration:

I wonder why Chelsea was a forced sale whilst Everton were just left to die. One part of the country more high profile than another?

Not about the money? Sure

Just being there will help the LGBTQA movements apparently. But he won't wear his rainbow armbands anymore

Loolllll

Not been on the forum for a couple of weeks so just catching up on a lot of it now so apologies for being a week or 2 behind...

I'm sure most of you know but a huge LFC fan here and even I can say he's talking shite. I read the full Athletic interview and a lot of it was saying how even though he's moved there his views haven't changed... but he'll also respect their beliefs and not wear a rainbow armband or speak about it. So basically not doing anything.

I love Hendo and for all he's done for our club I don't begrudge him the huge payday he would have been better saying nothing than giving this interview. His PR team misread this one massively.

anyone got a good link for dodgy football  streams, please? 🙂

https://www.footybite.to/

Unusable unless you have adblocker, often doesn't kick in until dead on kick off time and you may need to try a few of the links before you find one that works. But after all that, I find it pretty good.

The Olympic Streams option often works well.

    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
