Maybe you know something i don't, if so fair enough but you didn't have to be so rude to that other person.

My point was that with the current dates doing festivals in august would be completely normal as far as what other artists do year in year out.

"rude" ? read the following message I sent right after, you'll see that there was no anger or anything like that in my message, just common sense 😉

Wouldn't they do non festival dates in August also? Rather than a European tour from September onwards?

For example they are doing Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, UK and Belgium on there sept/Oct tour. That pretty much rules them out august festivals in those countries.

They are also doing gigs close to Hungary in September, bands don't usually visit all countries in Eastern Europe. So gigs in Prague and Vienna, rules out Hungary for me.

I highly doubt they will be doing European festivals by the tour dates. If the usual countries were missing you might have a point, I don't see it though.

I've mostly been on the Reading board and people still think theres a decent shot they will do that. Is there no France - seems surprising that? Could do their Lollapalooza - would make a lot of sense that actually given they are doing all the South American ones

They have a show in Paris in October which rules out Lollapalooza and Rock en Seine I think.

I've never seen a huge band announcing a world tour with shows in September and seen them announcing festivals for August after that. It just makes any sense, there's zero suspense about it... They'll do a lot of festivals in Europe during Summer 2024 for sure. That's it. End of the story...

so... it says annoucment soon on their instegram..

makes me think about taylor swift because of all of the hype she makes with the new album/tour and song today

its just gonna be them announcing ticket sales or announcing a partnership with someone, or something else stupid like that. I do hope I am wrong

Surely they'll announce Szitizen Prime ticket sales.

First names probably mid to end of November, until there's a really big artist who wants to announce whole tour at once before that (like Ed Sheeran for 2019).

Will they do prime tickets? What with tickets already being on sale in Sept.

IIRC for 2022 first they sold early bird tickets (the cheapest ones), then prime tickets (more expensive, but included bag of merchandise), and only then first artists were announced.

RHCP also have a new album and nothing scheduled for the summer yet.

I know. Unfortunately. Since Sziget and Werchter are teasing annoucements I‘d appreciate them coming back.

There was also another member who came to be on the RW topic but disappeared, who even made a game with the initials of the bands that were going to be announced the next day.

Okay, so my money's on a Taylor Swift announcement. She's teasing tour dates at a time when Sziget's also teasing and there aren't many bigger acts than her. She talked about doing a tour of festivals in 2019/2020 which was scuppered by Covid. Perhaps not everyone's preferred act but a huge draw.

Not sure I agree but would be happy to be wrong.

Would fit with the 1 huge superstar bookings that have happened recently to be fair

BlackPink just announced for London Hyde Park on 10 July. I couldn't name you one of their songs but they're clearly 'around' next summer and are a big name. Given the nature of their music I'd assume they weren't particularly likely, but they booked Bieber!

Good God, that would be awful. Not as bad as Bieber, obviously, but a little too kid-friendly for my liking (and hopefully Sziget management think the same!!).

    • It’s probably fairly easy to stay in a hotel but I much prefer the camping set up. It was pretty quiet where we camped but a longer walk to the arena but the weather was nice so not a problem. There’s also a lake you can camp by. Once we got off the tube/train we walked down the main road and turned right (festival site is left) and camped down there.    Do you think? They do have water points inside the arena & where I camped there were toilets, showers & water points super close. I think if you time it right the RiP stage is so easy to get close to the front. Second stage is decent & a like the indoor arena for bands on the 3rd stage. I think all the stages sound better than Downloads too, always had issues with the 2nd stage at Download being too quiet. Even main at some points.
    • Interesting that they’ve mentioned Blink-182 in mail. Btw dates for 2027 are 10-12 June. Same dates as Mystic & Sweden Rock and most likely Download, RFP & Greenfield.
