Honestly cant get over what a weird flex that was from a BBC 6music Producer though?

One thing posting it on twitter, but doubling down on Instagram?

Has he been told to reign it in?

Aren't they all speculation other than Wolf Alice and the Chems?

yes

1975 could easily be WG Thurs or BBC Intro, for example, if they're there at all.

Matt42 (Gone but not forgotten) has just said on Discord he's been told Bloc Party are doing one of the TBAs

Don't get me wrong, your hard work on the secret compilation is very much appreciated, just want to make sure I'm understanding everything correctly 🙂

Hi

Got a message from a mate that bloc party are playing - simply that’s the source. A mate. Nothing I’m hanging too much on.

I wonder if they are a BBC introducing TBA?

We'll take anything at this stage!

I think 1975 on John Peel is looking increasingly more likely

Dunno if this has been shared / has any validity

I'm a bit more skeptical of the JP one being someone quite that big, just because it doesn't really clash with anything. Putting someone headliner sized for other festivals when there's nothing to split the crowd (they headlined Reading the last time it had just three headliners, when they last toured) just feels a bit too much really

Someone like Bloc Party feels about right actually for that slot

What makes you say Biffy? Info/rumour/gut feel/wish list?

Announcing a tour on the 20th

Have a good relationship with the fest, didn't they say they would do it for free at some point

Just finished a headline set at Download so should have enough to string together a short setlist

So gut feel/wish list more than anything

You are aware The Killers did that secret slot in JP in 2017 and then went on to headline in 2019?

I guess its possible, Saturday in Scotland and then nothing until the 29th. Would love to see it happen!

Yeah but at the same time as the Legend slot - there was a huge opportunity for splitting the crowd - even indie fans might miss that for the legend slot. If you put a big band on this year vs Herbie Hancock and Lianne La Havas there's not a whole lot of competition

Reasonable analysis, fair play

    • Not sure what this means for 2027 but it looks like Holt Farm's website and email are both now inactive and unavailable.   It'll be a shame if they don't operate for 2027 as it was an excellent alternative to the other off-site offerings.   Fingers crossed they're just enjoying their downtime 🤞
    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)
