I know, I'm gutted.. can't really understand why it's cancelled considering all restrictions are meant.to end by June 21st.

I'm guessing if bands are not in a position to do their whole tours then it's not worth the costs incurred to get on the road for one off's and given lots of countries haven't given dates of when they are lifting then it probably isn't worth the risk. If it's close and the dates are not quite confirmed as well bands won't want to risk further loss of earning by incurring costs they might not get back.

  • 3 weeks later...

So the Kelis gig that I thought would be the first one back (but I was skeptical with her being an American artist) has now been cancelled. I am however feeling a little more optimistic and have bought tickets for The Staves and Beach Bunny - paging @Quarkin case he doesn't know they are touring over here.

Hoping to get Laura Marling tickets on Friday as well. Time to start getting a bit more hopeful for the future.

I did not know this!  Missed out on Staves tix but will try for Beach Bunny! Thanks lovely 🙂

EDIT: bumsticks, only playing up in Tufnell Park and that's a big ol' pain in the arse for me.  Will have to pass on it. But thanks for the heads up!

Sorry I've got a Valentines date with them! Hopefully it might mean they are around for Festival season.

Do the Meteor Street pilgrimage first and make it worth the journey. Ideal for pre-gig beers!

Confession - never watched Spaced!

North London's just not worth it.  Allowing for getting to the station, getting to London and getting across to TP, I'm looking at 2 hrs in each direction.  Last train to get back is about 23:30, so I've either got to leave a gig early or absolutely sprint across town shitting myself.

If I want to drink then it's even longer to get the bus, so call that 2.5 hrs there, and a £30 odd cab ride home. So between 4-5 hours travel and £50-£60 in travel costs. And if I miss that last train, add in another £30-£40 cab costs.

I'll stick with Brighton 😄

So looks like Doreen Doreen will be my first Gig which is in July in Bristol. That will be an absolute blast.

Wait wait, just realised  I have Jade Bird at the end of June, which is before July 🙂

My gig list is all over the shop!

Just realised I've got a ticket for the IDLES Brighton gig on 13th Sep. Then also realised that the Rolling Blackouts gig is 1st Sep.

I fear I may have lost track of it all...

1st Gig not yet cancelled is Flaming Lips in Leeds 20th July - now that would be some gig to come back to but I'm very doubtful it will go ahead.

Big gap after that but hopeful for these in Leeds Oct/Nov:

Paul Heaton/Jacqui Abbott

Elton John

James/Happy Mondays

Snapped Ankles in Gorilla, Manchester.  A brilliant band, in a brilliant venue, with a brilliant immune system.  Can't wait.

Fucking brilliant live band. First time I saw them at end of the road festival I knew nothing about them, but I was hooked within 5 minutes. WTF, there's a load of bushes on stage!!!!!!

    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
