Matt42
Interesting development. Mad Cool will be adding an extra day (Monday) to accommodate an extra headliner on the lineup. Wonder who it could be? Could it be some last minute dates for Kendrick Lamar?

The talk in the Mad Cool thread seems to be Bruce Springsteen, which would be great news if it means he’s touring next summer.

I think it’s a red herring - the email is to your boss to ask for Monday off because they are staging an extra date. Not that they are announcing the boss. I suppose everyone would then be really surprised when they announce Deacon Blue are actually headlining No it’s just people reading too much into the word boss. They’ve added an extra day so people have to take extra holiday. Edited October 17, 2021 by Matt42

dentalplan
Billy Idol has shows on Fri and Sun in Germany. Not ruled out but would be very unexpected.

Ah, I hadn't realised that. I'm very inconsistent to be honest, not got Green Day on as they are hugely unlikely but have left others in. I'll remove Idol in the next update. Matt42
I mean the people around are extremely strong and there will be more on the list. Not everyone who was around in 2020 who is touring next year will be back though. It can’t be possible for everyone to return.
Supernintendo Chalmers
Underworld are teasing something on their Instagram page. Could be a new album but the fact that the clip is of Rick playing the hook from Dark and Long would suggest tour dates. Which I for one would be jazzed about

Music moves on at a pace and there's loads of acts around now I'd love to see who weren't big enough when they were booked in 2019.

I had tickets for the tour they were going to do. If its the same format which was going to be an extended set that would be cool.

Matt42
Well we need some acts for 2023. We can’t have everyone in 2022 alone.

I'm sure it won't happen but still. I love Kendrick and he's right up at the top of my list but in an objective look at who should be in line for a kingmaking Glastonbury headline slot at time of speaking, Abel is no. 1. Social conscious, massive bangers, at the peak of his career. Sign me up. Don't know too much about his attitude, any indication on whether it's big money or nowt with him? FloorFiller
It may just be because I’ve had to hear it on the radio like five times a day at work, but that newest Weeknd song really does nothing for me. Got all the makings of an awesome 80’s synth banger but ultimately falls pretty flat. Didn’t crack the top 10 over here either so maybe I’m not alone in that sentiment. I think he’s do a good job of headlining though, especially with the more retro sound he’s adopted recently. Would lend itself to an impressive stage show I imagine. Still salty over him mysteriously disappearing from the lineup in 2013, although I’m gonna assume it’s because he decided he was above that slot/wanted more money as the festival grew nearer so bailed. Mouseboy11
The Weeknd is a weird one, he’s got some absolute banger singles over the last few years but I don’t think he’s ever made a really good album. I do think he’d smash a headline slot however, although I’m not sure the festival would go for him and Billie in the same year.
