Didn’t they step in on the other stage in 2019?

I know 3 years would have passed since then and for up and coming artists I could understand them returning but not sure The Charlatans fit in to that category!

Tbh I'd expect a lot of announcements over the next couple weeks or so, regardless of what Glastonbury may or may not do.

Pretty much every festival that hasn't announced anything yet - Latitude, WOMAD, BeatHerder, Beautiful Days, Wilderness amongst others - will need to get something out soon and it always make sense to try and hit the end of the month pay day.

I don’t have the stats @Gnomicide is confirmed stats man, but I’m pretty sure the poster coming during Balance Week is the trend?

A sort of midweek boost for those who may never check their emails.

Not really. Any where the gap is less than 7 days is during balance week so it's only happened twice.

So, are we thinking the coach resale is most likely to be three weeks today?

I'm not - the 10th seems too soon for the dust to settle on the balance window.

I think either the 17th or the 24th are reasonably likely, but wouldn't like to call which.

I wonder if the balance week being a month early changes things? I think it will do

the announcement of the sale is usually after the balance payments close ... so I would think the 24th the more likely .... could be the 17th ... the 10th would be a very outside bet

I think it depends how they want to account for the ticket money...

It seems they brought the balance deadline to March for the money to be accounted for in this financial year. If they want the resale money to count in this year they'll have to do it in March, if they're happy to roll it into next year they'll wait till April.

It's bound to.

The fact they were able to drop a fair chunk of the 2020 lineup (RIP) on 12th March shows that they'll already have the enough to do so again by the beginning of March this year.

It's been before the balance deadline for the last 4 years so I think it's easy to expect something during balance week especially given Emily's comments.

I think there was some sort of Covid tax relief that is due to end as we go into the new tax year, that is almost certainly why they brought the dates forward so I'm sure it will be in March.

Not directly to do with the financial year - it's that the VAT rate on event tickets rises from 12.5% to 20% on April 1st.

As long as they do it before then, they save a shitload of cash.
