They postponed it because they were going to start assembling the Festival now.
The organization does not yet proceed with any confirmation on the poster because the conversations with the artists will only start now. But they will probably keep the same names, in Portugal Rock in Rio is very criticized because the festival itself has little Rock to be called Rock in Rio.

Thanks, each to their own, I think the lineup for the foo fighters day looks great!

Today in Belgium newspapers, news about RW and their plans... 😉

They will share some news very shortly.

What's in the papers since it was already published today??

IF the festival will happen later this year then the most honest & sincere policy would be announcing the majority of the delayed 2021 line-up the same time when they'll tell us about the late holidys scenario.

It will be nothing compared with a normal RW. Nice European acts will be there, but a major part of the line up will be moved to other years.

Do you know if other European festivals will follow?

No official confirmation yet, but Lowlands said they want to have the festival at their usual dates. International line up, but no big American headliners. Depends on the details of the government risk fund.

I think you have to look at bands like Royal Blood, Fontaines, Balthazar, Altin Gun, Paul Kalkbrenner...

But no guarantee. No big production or Crew.

Well, I'll be happy with a small scale festival (if it happens) considering the entire world hasn't seen any live band in one year:)

And Oscar & The Wolf... bands whose production is coordinated by the same people as the production behind RW.

I actually would take that with Editors, Royal Blood, Fontaines, Balthazar, Altin Gun, Paul Kalkbrenner. A 2 day festival first week of september would work for me.

Really? He did not play since 2019 and there's still no new music out. If true it's exciting

They plan to announce the cancellation of the original weekend before the end of March, and at the same time the light version and...

But I think you’ll be all surprised.

Fingers crossed. Don’t shoot me if you have to wait a little bit longer. But there is really light at the end of the tunnel. We are lucky that a lot of the suppliers are born in the lap of Rock Werchter (stageco, zippola, powershop, ...).

    • Interview on 6 music earlier, was going to get the album to have a listen, but comes out the day they play the festival
    • Additional dates added already
    • I feel like it's not COMPLETELY beyond the realm of possibility that they could headline but I just don't see it.    They're not doing anything other than headlining. So nah, I don't see it.
    • Consider that the sound quality can be better near the front bars right behind the soundbooth rather than closer to the stage, like with mbv. And of course, the front sections are full of talkers too.   The most courteous move would be to have conversations in the very back of the field.
    • I mean...I do think it all needs more regulation, but god knows how when it's all so global...but there's so much stuff on there that is messing with our little minds. But also, he has given these companies till September, and well...he'll surely be gone by then. I think social media ban for under 16s will likely happen, but I think regulating it for everyone is better. It's the not the kids we should be worried about, it's all those middle aged doom scrolling keyboard warriors like me.
